Yorkie Yakker | Need some info. on new meds. Hi everyone! We have a new vet. We have seen her two times, and still a little unsure of her. (Not sure why- just am)She has recommended that we change Sadie from Heartgard (to prevent heartworm disease) to Interceptor. Does anyone know if one is really better than the other? Or is there something better yet for small dogs? Thanks!!!!!!! Amy & Sadie

| My vet gave me interceptors for Buttercup but then I decided to change it to Heartguard because he doesn't like the flavor of the interceptors. I don't know if there is really a difference or if one is better than the other though. Maybe someone can better answer your question. |

| I don't know the difference but my Yorkie is on Interceptor. She was on this before and we didn't want to change because she hasn't had a reaction to it.

| The breeder for Gizmo had Interceptor in the health contract. Just FYI. She says that Heartguard is a real issue for dogs under four lbs. I'm not sure why. The vet I took Gizmo to for his well puppy check up said that he only uses Interceptor for Yorkies. Maybe it's different in various parts of the country? We are in central Texas. |
