Is this good news? An angel?
 

As you know, we lost our Lexxi (Maltese) just Saturday morning after her struggle with hydrocephalus....
When she was diagnosed, I had called the breeder to inform her and she didn't even know what it was. She said she couldn't help me with the medical bills but would "replace" her when the time came (as if there is a replacement).
Anyway, I continued to think "no, I wouldn't want another one from her" and I still feel that way. However, I did send an email to her informing her of what has happened - do you think she's repsonded? No. I guess I just want her to say "OMG I'm so sorry" and be understanding, at the very least.

The good news........
So I was talking to a breeder friend of mine and told her what happened. She in turn was talking to her good friend (breeder) about my story. She says to me "Sandy wants you to have her little maltese girl. She is 1 yrs old and 3 lbs. She wanted to keep her for breeding but she didn't get big enough."
I told my friend it was too soon....but go ahead and send me pics and the price she is asking and I'll think on it.
She said "no. She wants to GIVE her to you! She just wants her to have the best home possible, and I assured her, you were the one!"
At first I thought it was way too soon and I have a house full already...but then I thought "maybe this means she was meant to come to me?" Who does that? Just out of the goodness of thier heart says "I'm sorry for your loss. Here, I want you to have and care for my baby to help you ease the pain."
I have pictures of her...she is a doll and I feel like I can't say no! Like she is supposed to be with us!
What do you all think? Part of me feels guilty even considering another baby already, but I almost think she is this gift, this angel??

First let me say...I'm sorry you lost your little girl...I've been there and I know that pain all too well.

We all deal with grief in our own way and you are the only one who knows your heart so you should do what feels right for you.

My husband has always felt I got the boyz way too soon after we lost Boog and if he had his way I'd be finding a new home for them. But...like I said...everyone deals with grief in their own way and at the time I did what I felt was right for me.

Sometimes things happen for a reason, I think its quite possible this is a sign. Lexxi may very well know how much pain your in and has her little paw in helping you overcome your pain of losing her by sending this precious baby. Only you know if your ready for this, but I know if you do give her a home in your house she will be one lucky girl!!!

When we lost our Sheltie, my hubby didn't want another. I finally talked him into it and you should see his face light up now!!! They didn't take the place of the other, they just opened up a whole new LOVE window!

Like my2boyz says, it's a decision only you can make. Keep us posted!

There's your answer - there's your gut speaking. I think you have so very much love to give that Lexxi conspired to enable you to keep on giving. From one angel to another.

Even though your heart is hurting, I feel a lot excitement underneath the pain.

For real ?? That's so awesome of her and it sounds like she really needs a good home ...I have a feeling you really want to do this - look at it as a TRIBUTE to Lexxie....she's always going to be in your heart no matter what...good luck in deciding and I'd love to see pictures of her

I am first in line to say:

"Everything in life happens for a reason" We may not understand today or even tomorrow, but one day it will all make sense.

Follow your heart, which Lexxi has her permanent spot there and always will, but the space for LOVE is ENDLESS and can be filled with LOTS of it ;)

I waited less than a week after my Zorro died years ago as I had to have a yorkie in my life. I knew he would want it that way. I say it's meant to be.

I'm so sorry for your loss. As in an earlier post. Things happen for a reason. I would go ahead and get her. You will not be replacing the baby you lost, just adding another one to love. I really don't think that you will regret getting her but, I'm afraid that you will regret it if you don't.

To be honest, I think Lexxi is sending the "angel" baby to you.

Most people would NOT just give away an expensive dog. I'd take her and love her like Lexxi would want you to. :)

You guys are all seeing what I see! I have tears right now just reading all the confirmation that this is indeed a gift from Lexxi! She must have had something to do with this - people just don't come out of the blue and offer you something so precious as this, and want to just hand her to me??

I only just found your thread about Lexxi for the first time today, and your poem to her. Nearly broke my heart. I don't believe in co-incidences. This little Maltese was meant to happen, to give solace to you in a time of such terrible sadness and stress (with what you are going through with Gemma as well....hope she is doing better BTW).

This is absolutely a gift from Lexxi! I am so happy for you, because I think that Lexxi saw the pain that you were struggling to endure, and she provided you with this new outlet to give out the love that you will forever feel for Lexxi. I can't wait for pictures, you lucky woman!

I am so sorry for the loss of your baby. I think you have to do what feels right for YOU. If it feels right, then this new little girl might just be the little angel who was sent to help you through your pain.

How wonderful of this woman to do this for you. That gives me hope that there are still good people out there!

I am so sorry for the loss of your little Lexxi, but I agree, Lexxi had to have sent this fuzzy little snowball to help you heal. And it's so good to know that there are still people out there who care more about others than the almighty dollar. Take that little baby, love her with all your heart and thank Lexxi every day for finding her for you. :)

Ok....are you ready?? Here are 2 pics of my potentially new baby girl! I personally bet a dollar that she is even cuter in person :D
She is around 3.5 lbs and 1 yrs old. She is too tiny to breed, which was the plan for her, and the breeder just wants her to have a good home. The last pic is her Ch. daddy!!!

She's a total doll baby and if you tell me her name is Angel...that will just be too much!

She's beautiful and so is her daddy! Good luck with your decision!

Angel is a perfect reminder, thats for sure! I am excited now! At first I wasnt sure...but you guys confirmed my feelings that is was right! I talked to the breeder, Sandy, and it's a go! Maybe sometime next week or the week after I will go pick her up :happyboun :2hearts2:

That woman has a huge heart to do this and I would not pass it up. You are not replacing Lexxi, you are just getting the gift to love and be loved again! Let us know what you decide!:)

I agree with the consensus, I believe that Lexxi sent her to you to ease your pain. It is a sign that she is at peace and wants you to make peace with her passing by sending you another baby to love and mother as well as you did her. She knows what a great mom you are and wanted another baby to experience your tender loving care.

The breeder is an angel as well to be willing to give you a new baby out of the kindness of her heart. What a wonderful person she is.

Good luck with your new little one. Oops almost forget to mention how beautiful she is.

WOW!!! That is one beautiful little snow angel!!!! What an amazing lady her breeder is, to give to you this gorgeous little girl!

My baby was a gift from a breeder as well....she wanted the very best home for him as he was born with a split in his nose and was not expected to live...but he did...the nose issue is not a problem or really noticable unless your looking and he is a rambuctious 2 lbs and 9 oz of fur terror!!! and i love him dearly!!! I truly believe that what God has for us is for us and you have to be open to see the signs being presented to you. NO one just gives away a Yorkie and when they do its because its been placed in their hearts by God to help ease your pain and its your babys way of saying Mom I am okay and this is my gift to you to help you give all that love you have and had to me to another deserving baby!!! This baby is the one who is getting the gift as much as you are!!! Say yes and be happy!!! its what Lexxi would want!!!! Can't wait to see the photos!!!

I am so glad you did decide to get her! I too believe she is a gift to you from Lexxi to ease your pain and the hole in your hearts.

I think Angel is a beautiful name (and reminder of Lexxi).
