Hot dog? I got 3 month old Buffy a few weeks ago and the weather has just turned hot here in NY. I'm assuming it's okay to leave the air conditioning on for her as necessary. Or, is a fan better for little puppies? Any feedback would be appreciated! thank you!!

Hi there! I saw your posting and then your thread ... only after I started the same new thread. LOL! Well, it's obviously a point of concern... those little dogs in all this heat. Where are you in NYC? I've only had Buffy for about 3 weeks and I'm still a major newbie and so nervous about her! I hate to leave her alone but i can come home at lunchtime to feed her and give her a walk around the block so hopefully she sleeps in the afternoon when I'm not there. Oh, the guilt! mb

I would think the AC is the nswer because it cools all the air and the fan just cools where it is directed.

| Hee hee hee... i thought this was going to be a post to see if it was okay to feed yorkies "hot dogs!" i would agree that ac is the way to go... you wouldnt want a fan blowing direct air in any specific direction and you never know if it could fall/ get knocked over while you were out. Oops! YOu werent talking about a ceiling fan, where you? If so, then I think that would be just as good as the AC and maybe a little less on the electric bill!

I feel your guilt! But what else can we do? It's good that our doggies get some interaction in the middle of the day. I think once they grow up it won't be such an issue. Or will it? I guess I'll always feel guilty to leave her alone. RE: your question: I'm in Manhattan, in Murray Hill , but actually I went to high school on staten island and my parents are still there!

that's cool that you don't have to go into the city. the commute is such a pain! Just wondering what made you decide to get a Yorkie as opposed to another breed...?

I'm allergic to dog fur....I literally can't breath, and when I was 14 a good friend of mine had a yorkie and he was sooo cute and I decided that if I was ever to get a dog..it would be a yorkie, plus due to it's size it is perfect for apartment life and just running aroung the house poops him out...lol, my bf and I just got him a few weeks ago and our whole life has changed..lol, just like having a child...he comes first all the time
