| Need to register my yorkie... Help My yorkie is two years old, his birth certificate is from FCA argentina since he was born there. I dont know if I have to register him in akc, since i want to buy a girl yorkie so they can mate. I ve been told that I don necessarily have to do it because his registered en FCA. I know that for me to register him en AKC I need his pedigree papers which the saler did not give me. I ve tried contacting the FCA to see if i can get the pedigree papers, but nothing. Someone told me about ACA American Canine Association, but I dont know how legit it is. I m planning on buying a girl yorkie and the puppies papers are from ACA, do to the point that the lady could not register genie because she did not have the pedigree, she even had to change the sire from AKC to ACA so she could register the puppies. I really dont no what to do, because with our papers it harder to sell the yorkies, because once they mate I know I cant keep them all. Need some guidance, please. |

| I don't think you can register in AKC, whether you have papers or not. I almost positive that a dog must have both an AKC sire, and AKC dam to be registered through AKC. I'm not sure about ACA. You could also look into CKC.

| hi, i looked in AKC and i can register coli by a foreign form since they acept from FCA, the problem is the pedigree papers. But if I buy a dog that is ACA I cannot register it in AkC. This is very hectic and frustrating. Thanks for the other organization am going to check, but can you tell what the letters mean, its easier to surf the internet with the name of the organization. Thank you. |

| CKC is Canine Kennel Club, I believe. As long as Coli is AKC registered, his puppies can be registered in with any other registry, so if you got an ACA female, the puppies could be ACA. However, the puppies could not be AKC, so you'd have to do the same thing that the breeder did, by registering with ACA...
