| No Longer a Member | I haven't followed this thread in a long time. I was just wondering if a date and location has been set yet. I just now looked at a map. Dang! I didn't realize MO was so far up there! LOL...not too great on my US geography. For some reason, I thought it was closer down there by Texas. |

I'm an event planner here at work and Lisa - you have the toughest part of the job right now...finding a venue and securing pricing. I agree with Des - find the location and then post what the pricing per night is and then we'll decide if we can go or not. It would be fine with me to either get a single room or room with someone to cut costs then you can spend more at the vendor fair...lol. Once you get the venue then you could start another thread to see who would like to room with each other - that would help too with costs.

| I have an idea - I'm wondering if you could check with some groups who host dog shows in the Kansas City area about hotel ideas. Perhaps they could tell you where people normally stay & what hotels have given participants with dogs a group rate. The hard thing is it may not be near the Plaza - because as I recall from earlier threads that is what we're try to do. The Plaza area is beautiful and I love it, but it is also pricey and people staying in those hotels expect a certain type of decorum. Perhaps a hotel a little farther out would be more willing to work with us & then we could have the charter bus to go to the Plaza.
