Donating YT 7000 Club Member | water......? Hi everyone. As you know we got our puppy Tucker today. Well, he's already showing a love for water by laying down in his water dish. I also know that a lot of yorkies love to swim. I was wondering what age is safe to introduce him to water. We have a little kiddy pool in our back yard for our bigger dog Rusty. But he doesn't like water and is afraid of it. Please tell me if you know what age is good to let him in it. thank you!!!!! Last edited by MeganS; 06-05-2005 at 01:58 PM. Reason: add words |

| I bought Bella a kiddy pool this weekend and just didn't fill it all the way. I think as long as you watch him, the early to introduce something the better

| You could start by letting him play in the bath tub. Yorkies love this and you can get toys that float. Just fill it with a couple of inches of water and watch them have a blast. |

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | thank you everyone. i've learned that the age doesn't really matter as long as they're not too small. i have one more question. should he have all his shots before he goes in the pool or bathtub? i don't think he needs to but my mom won't let me. |

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | OK i will. I have one more question everyone. My mom won't let me put him in the tub at nihgt. its just a little puddle in the tub its not even the whole thing. Its not late either. She said she's worried he'll get a chill. I think she's being a little over protective. Is it possiable that he will get a chill from being in there for a few minutes? And our house isn't cold either. |

| Megan, you are such a sweetheart! I think that he might get chilled since he is so little. Maybe you could find another activity to play with him! Then tomorrow you 2 can go "swimming" again in the tub (haha)! |

| Megan you are so lucky that Tucker seems to be a water baby. Gucci hates the water, she fights me like crazy. |

| We have a pool and today I put Lily in with me. I held a kick board for her and she stood on it. She was very brave about walking across the floating mats to get were she wanted to be. I really don't think she cared so much about the 'swimming' part of it though. Just want to be where the action was.
