| LOL, welcome to YT. sounds like you need to do a bit of reading and go from there. use the search feature on this site, i think you will find it real helpful. if you are like me you can start searching on one subject and that will lead into another..........there is so much to learn. these little guys can come up with new things that make you wonder every day. go to the FAQ area to learn how to post a picture. I think every one on here likes seeing those sweet faces. get started on the best high quality food you can afford, good vet, and most important of all..........love that little beast! never smack , kick or yell. they learn best when you are calm and loving and understanding with them. they can sometimes be difficult to house break.... so have some patience.

| Hi Stacey. Welcome to YT. You know that Yorkies are like chips. They are addicting. LOL. I have an 11 week old Yorkie girl along with four others. One important thing is to keep Nutra Cal on hand. I'm not sure how big or small your baby is but mine is two pounds (on the small side) and little ones are susceptible to Hypoglycemia. Signs of it are shaking, tiredness, and dazed out look. My vet told me to prevent it, that I should give her a small ribbon size twice a day. Also, you want to leave dry kibble out as well as fresh water. I free feed mine and they eat what they want. For my 11 week old, I leave the kibble out for her to pick on, but also feed her a tablespoon or more of chopped boiled chicken. I do this three times a day, to be sure she's eating. I don't force feed her, just let her eat what she wants. The other thing is Potty Training. Yorkies are tough nuts to crack. You want to be very diligent with this at an early age. It can take a year or two to completely potty train them and some do not always compeletly 100 percent train. They may still have small accidents. This is pretty common with the breed. At 10 weeks your girl is probably teething so another good tip would be to keep a small basket full of toys for her, and every time she chews soemthing she shouldn't, bring her to her basket and give her one of her toys. If I can help you in any way, please feel free to PM me. I love to talk Yorkies Elaine |

| Welcome and congrats on the new baby! I know having a new baby can seem a bit overwhelming if you have not cared for a puppy before. In addition to what info has been given, I have a few more tidbits for you. 1. Baby will tell you what she needs and when. You just need to learn her language. You won't have to try too hard, especially if you do lots of reading here at YT. There are lots of threads about puppies, food, potty training, obedience, etc. I also suggest you go to a book store and pick up a book on potty training. The Dummies line has a great one. Also pick up a book on general Yorkie care and training. It will give you lots of great info. 2. Start baby on a good food right away. Do some searching here. Many of us like Wellness, Merrick, Inova and Royal Canin. 3. Socialize your baby early, with people and with other dogs. I introduced Gracie at the park when she was about 10 weeks old. If other dogs wanted to visit with her, I just politely asked their human if they were up to date on their vaccines, and only let visitation happen if they are. I would not let your new baby on public grassy areas until she is 16 weeks and has had all of her shots. Socialization is one of the most important things you can do for your puppy. Just supervise and make sure every situation is safe. 4. LOVE. Give baby lots of LOVE and she will give it back to you 10 fold, and then some!

| Welcome! Congratulations on the new addition! There is too much to know about yorkies to tell you everything at once. You'll have to do some searching, just browsing through the site, to learn some general information. Then, when you have a specfic question, just post! I can't wait to see pics of your baby!
