Yorkies ARE your kids I'm just curious - how many here have their beautiful yorkie babies, and no kids. I got my baby when my fertility treatments all failed. She brought light into my life where darkness lived.........and I am so grateful for her. I never thought a furbaby could be so special. So just curious if there are any other "child free" owners out there :) |
Child free owner here. I do not plan on having kids, and having my 2 babies is wonderful. After working in a day care for many years and being a baby nurse, having puppies was the best route for me:) |
Close enough, my son is grown and lives in Texas with his family. Only had one child & I missed not having more. Making up for it now with our 2 girls & Max. I'm ready for a house load of furbabies. |
ME! :wavey: No skin children here...just the furbabies :D You don't know HOW much I get HOUNDED by the people in my family about this either. They always say that they think "I don't want to have kids" because I am treating these Yorkies like babies are they are filling a void that isn't there  OMG, haha....that P's me off to no end :D I cannot even tell you. I am so SICK of hearing it. It's like well CRAP....i guess I should just get pregnant and have a baby for EVERYONE ELSE in my family  Just sooooooo annoying. And it's usually MY SISTER that says this CRAP all the time  |
My furbabies are my only babies...no skin kids. I was the oldest of 6 children...that was plenty of skin babies to last a lifetime right there!! |

What a touching story, I got teary eyed just thinking of how you must have felt. I'm so glad your baby has brought you so much joy! I have 3 children 17, 11, & 10 all girls, but my furkids are my other 2 children! I love and adore them just like my kids! |

Yes, Ozzie IS my baby! Date is a four-letter word with good reason and I'm in the Yahtzee Years (where you start scratching impossible plays off your list -- close to the point where having kids is my Yahtzee or four of a kind:) ). I don't know if I could love him more if he were a real boy. |
i never had skin children, and not because i didnt want any, but because it just never happened... very sad for me, but god brought me lexi. if it wasnt for her, i probably wouldnt be the way i am today...i knew i had to get something to care for who needed me. i just wasnt all there at the time. i wouldnt be here if it wasnt for lexi girl... she is my life saver and she is my child.. my family never ever had brought up the reason for me not having kids, but other people do and it makes me feel bad, i just tell them, lexi is my child and i dont need anymore |
Somehow I knew at the age of 5 that I would never have children, and it would only be with the element of time that I would know for sure if my feelings were correct, which they were! I also, at around the same age, had seen the little dogs in teacups in magazines, but imagined a small little dog with long hair and topknot with a beautiful bow that would always look like a puppy. I had no idea they really existed till at the age of 30 I happened upon a breeder that raised Yorkies. I did not even know what a Yorkie was, so he went back into his back kennel and took out this 1 lb.fluff ball to show me, a beautiful 1lb. little girl, whom I named "Tiki". I now have my precious Sahara and Dennis and life is complete! So yes, my Yorkies are my kids, and everyone who knows me always asks, " How are the kids?" Could not imagine my life without a Yorki in it. I adore them! |
I am sorry to hear about your situation. I am so happy that your little furbaby has brought you joy and helped you through it! |
I have 2 skin kids, 7 and 13, both girls, me and hubby have struggled with infertility after our first child was born, we have been trying for #3 for 5 years now, we got Madison (furkid) 5 months ago, she has helped us cope so much, she is our baby, and we have spoiled her so much:hearts-xx |

My husband and I just got married last July 31, and we are still young enough to have plenty of time for kids, but right now, neither of us think we want them, and we're perfectly fine spoiling Sukoshi instead! It's weird because I ALWAYS wanted kids (well...a little girl to be exact), but now that I'm married and in a position in my life to have one...I'm just not sure I want them anymore! I just tell everyone in my family to give us at least 5 years to ourselves (and our furbabies, of course - we have cats too), and then we'll reevaluate. At this point though, no matter how much I spend on Sukoshi, it won't be as much as raising a kid for 18 years + college expenses after that! We're happy with the way things are so far. |
