Thank you ladies for the replies - keep-em coming :) I am so glad that there are others that feel like I do. I love the description of the little dog with the top knot that always looks like a puppy. Perfect explanation of a yorkie. My fiance and I are looking to buy a townhouse right now and our realtor said something about the two animals I have, like to suggest I get rid of one. I was livid!!! And he says - I wish you would have told me you were getting the dog, I would have advised against it. POW!!! Man, does he not know how wrong that statement is. I would advise against him as my realtor, except he is my fiance's good friend. Nothing replaces my baby girl Jeanie. I call her my baby. I call myself her mommy, and Mike her Daddy. And that is the way it is. It's beautiful!! |
Oh, yeah....Sadie's definitely my child. No skin kids here. Just Sadie...and trust me, she's as loved and spoiled as any skin child, and not just by me...my parents (her Nana and Papaw) spoil her more than I do!!! |
I got married 2 years ago and I don't have skin kids yet. Don't know when I'm gonna have one, maybe in a year or so. But for now, Bengi is my baby :) |
We have 1 son, when he left for college I told hubby it was time for a inside baby again. We had built a new house & that was his excuse for 10 years!!! Well, once my son left us for school, I just went out to get another yorkie!! We had a Yorkie for the 1st 5 years of our marriage, before our son, & then we had one for 8 years. I was without one for 10 long years- now Jaxon is spoiled rotton!! At Christmas he got a shirt that says "Favorite Child", and my son said that is the truth! LOL, I just tell my skin kid that Jaxon will never grow up and leave me like he is!!! Really, my son adores Jaxon!!! When he comes home the 2 of them hang together. Jaxon knows the sound of my son's diesel truck as it comes down the gravel road and he almost wets himself waiting for him to come in!!! |

My husband and I tried to have children, it never happened. It was a long journey until one day, I let it go. It was not meant to happen, I can't make it happen. Winston and Maggie are our children. We could not love them more. They both fill that empty feeling inside. We are so lucky to have found so much joy in our furkids. And yes, people use to ask me all the time, "so when are you going to have a baby???". Don't let them get to you. |

I'm 38 and no skin kids - just my hubby and our fur babies. I think I sort of always knew that I wouldn't have kids, for some reason. I don't think having kids makes your life *finally* complete - but gosh, so many others tell us that. I actually think it's incredibly rude that friends/relatives think it's okay to continually tell you to have kids - like you're a freak for not having them. I find it offensive and intrusive and presumptuous - and arrogant too! Phew, that felt good! We always think that if, someday, we do want to experience being parents - there are so many kids to adopt and that would mean more to us anyway. We've both always known that we will be happy with or without kids. |
No skin kids here, lol. And to those of you who are dealing with the constant questioning of "when are you going to have children?" Give it time. It'll stop about the time you hit 40:D . No one asks us anymore.;) |

I love that! I hate being asked when I CAN'T have kids....and don't want to get into the emotional response. :) |
I have three children, but they are all grown. I LOVE kids and would have liked to have 1-2 more, but my dr. advised against it because of my health problems. I started feeling a little down when my kids starting getting married, moving into their own houses, etc. My son is the only one still at home with us. I have always wanted a yorkie, so I decided now is the best time because I have more time to spend taking care of one. We also have two grandchildren, which I love love love spending time with, but they are an hour away. So, I got Jake and he is like my child. He fills a void that was left when my daughters moved out on their own. He's a wonderful companion for me, and he has brought soooooooooo much joy into our home!! :) |
I'm 24, recently moved out of the parents house and into the "adult world" (hehehe), not married, living in sin (LOL), and not chomping at the bit for kids anytime soon. I love them and will probably have them at some point, but it's not on my list of priorities right now (or my boyfriend's, safe to say!). Even after we marry we probably won't have them for awhile; how would Sadie cope with a skin kid? Sadie is the princess! :) |
No skin babies. I have one fur-baby and I am expecting a girl on June 1st.:D  |
