| Please HELP I have my first teacup yorkie which i brought home this week, just after a day, she feels very weak, does not want to eat, vomitted and has diarrhea. I have to take her back to the breeder and 2 days has passed she is still there trying to regain her strength. The puppy was very shaky and always shy, quiet and sleeps a lot. According to the breeder, the puppy got stressed. I really want to take her home. ANY ADVICE? |

| How old is the pup? What is the size? I've heard it is not good to take them away from their mommy until they are 12 weeks old. Be patient. Make sure she is READY to come before you pick her up. I would not leave her alone for the first few days you have her. She will need you to get confortable in the new surroundings. Good luck!

| It sounds like your puppy could have had coccidia. I hope your breeder checks for that. It can show up after the pup is stressed. I hope you can bring her home soon. How old is the puppy? |

| Try to be patient, take the advice of your breeder. The time will pass and hopefully you will have a very healthy baby. Our breeder liked the pups to be 2 # before they left their mother. Ours were 2 and 3 lb. when we brought them home. They started having diarrhea but seemed otherwise healthy. We were feeding them the same food, so I got bottled water for them. That seemed to stop the diarrhea. It could have just been a little settle time.

| You don't want to bring her home before she is ready, sounds like she's a bit hypoglycemic and I agree with Dawn about maybe having coccidia, I hope your breeder knows all about these problems! |

| I agree with the coccidia. Puppy needs to see a vet asap! Can be very dangerous. I recently got a puppy, he had this, very scary. Wouldn't eat, wouldn't drink, lethargic, vomitting. They put them on an antibiotic and pup should be better in no time |

| Molly, It sounds like the pup is suffering from coccidia and maybe hypoglycemia. I hope the breeder took the pup to the vet to get check. With antibiotics she will be ok. Is best for you be patience and take her home when she is feeling better. I will have her in my prayers. Good luck. Please keep us posted. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I TOTALLY Agree she may have coccidia - My Chanel had it and we didn't know it ....it showed up 3-4 days after we brought her home and she was the SAME way ....of course the worst time was on a weekend and we ended up in Emergency.....GOOD LUCK with your baby and I hope she gets looked at asap ! May I ask why you took her back to the breeder and not the vet ? I hope your breeder is treating her !! Chanels breeder totally DENIED Chanel was even sick and she WAS....she actually could have died without medical attention ! |
