| Does spaying reduce aggression? My wife and I recently adopted a 9 year old intact female yorkie from our humane society. She is a little too aggressive for our 12 year old males taste. We will be getting her fixed regardlesss, but I'm curious if spaying a female can or often does reduce any aggression in female yorkies? |

| It might mine calmed down after spay and neuterng. It may also be part of her personality and then it wouldnt. She may need to go to a trainer

| I've heard that spaying in dogs older than 2years can often increase aggression. |

| I had a dog fixed once and he calmed down a lot. But he was a puppy. At her age that might just be her personality. Let us know what happens! |

| I know several of our rescue dogs were a little aggressive prior to being spayed/neutered and afterwards, they calmed down a lot. One, we didn't know how old she was and one was 3 yrs old. I think it is best to have her spayed because my vet was telling me about the problems that can happen w/ older dogs that have not been spayed/neutered (health issues), but I don't know because I don't have one that old. You may want to talk w/ your vet and see what they think. I know AlaskaYorkie (Mike) may be able to offer some help/support. I believe Jack (maybe) was older too when he was neutered (I think).

| Katie is still kinda getting used to your male It takes time for them to adjust to eachother. I think the saying should help though. |
