| Autmn was a Bad girl!!!!! Yesterday my hubby was out gardening and Autumn thought she should help by digging holes in the flower beds. So naturally she was covered in dirt and had to get her bath w/Minksheen (first time using it and boy was it amazing - she looked beautiful!!!!) So for the rest of the day yesterday she was good and there was know more digging. Well this morning I let her and Dakota out, she is not outside 2 min. and I see something flying in the air. My husband jumps up and says "Oh you might not want to see this" well there LITTLE MISS FRESH FACE is digging a H U G E hole that her entire body can fit in back in the flowerbed. To make matters worse the sprinklers had been on an hour before so now not only is she dirty but covered in mud. As I approach her to catch her and try to wipe her off she jumps in the hole and rolls over w/her feet in the air as if I am going to just rub her belly. So now back to the bath (w/only minutes to spare before the school bus comes). Im sorry for going on but I had to vent to people that would understand because hubby still thinks it is funny. I of course do not! Any suggestions on what to put around the flowerbeds to keep her out or is digging just a terrier thing? Thanks for listening and your help Amie |

| Betty loves to dig too. I don't let her have the run of the yard. If I did she would probably be a walking dirtball! I walk her on a retractable leash in the yard. That way, I can keep her away from the 'bad areas'. Sometimes, I will take the leash off for a few minutes in an enclosed area for some exercise...but I am right there with her. Or, if I am working outside, I put her on a long leash and attach her to a stake NEAR ME so she can run around a little without getting into too much trouble! |

| To stop them from digging, put chicken wire under the soil in their favourite place to dig. (would take far too long and too expensive to do the whole yard) when their little paws start digging and come into contact with the wire they will stop. |

| I swear to you - this is true. My childhood dog was a Boston Terrier and he would dig on command! My mother never had to dig a whole for planting her flowers! Maybe you could rent her out to gardeners! |

mine aren't diggers but they did like to romp thru my green bean garden a few years ago - I put up a small fence of Chicken wire...then they figured out how to go UNDER it. heres Chanel showin Baby Cheri the ropes on how to stomp green beans...you can see her holding up the fence with her FACE while Cheri hangs on tight...not a pretty picture is it ?? | Well, the story sounds cute, and as cute as it is at some point I'm sure you don't want your yard dug up either. My Yorkie guy never was much of a digger except to maybe bury a bone here and there, my new Biewer on the other hand likes to dig. I read here or somewhere that I should put a little poo in the hole that he dug and put some dirt on top, I've now done this several different spots and he has stopped digging in those spots and hasn't really dug much in general. I had never heard of this before but in my case it did seem to work? Good Luck.. Kathy |

| I've not had a problem with ours digging - but each one of ours has a bad habit that I don't like. Dudley's "bad habit" is finding something stinky out in the yard to roll in. Doesn't matter how clean the yard is or how clean HE is, he will find something that stinks and roll in it. Corky's is chewing up dry leaves and/or paper into tiny little bits.. napkins, kleenex, toilet paper, newspaper, it doesn't matter what kind of paper, or even if the dry leaf is bigger than she is, she will drag it into the living room, pounce on it repeatedly, *kill* it, then chew whatever it is into itty-bitty shreds. Not sure why they do these things. and it's frustrating once in a while. But, then they look at you with those adorable eyes, and tilt their little heads first one way and then the other, like Why are you mad at me, Mommy? and you just melt (or at least I do). I cannot stay mad for more than a minute at either one of them. LOL Edited to add: I really did mean to give an answer for you to try. I have heard that, if you plant marigolds around the edges of the beds, they will stay out of them. I'm not sure if it works on Yorkies, but it does work on rabbits and deer - so maybe it will work on Yorkies too. Hope this helps.

| LOLOL what a little cutie pie!! She sounds just like my Tee Tee!! I'm sorry you had such a mess to clean up but I really don't have any advice other than maybe put a little fence around it but even that might not work. These little terriers LOVE to dig!
