| I Need Help With Simon's Energy! The past week Simon is running me down! He is waking up at 6am (he used to be super lazy in the mornings), barking at everything and just seems to have endless energy. I have upped our walks to 3 miles every night (keep in mind Hallie wants none of this so I carry her 3/4 of the way), then we play ball for about an hour, he wrestles with Hallie and he's STILL going at 10pm. I'm not complaining b/c I would rather have this then Mr. Man being sick but I need some activities to release some of this energy. I took him to daycare today, we came home, walked 3 miles, played ball and he's still going at it!! Help please~ |

| OH MY! I'm sorry, I don't have any suggestions - I just can't imagine that much energy. Well, actually I can. We used to have a Jack Russell and that sounds like him to a tee! WHEW! Good luck!

| Wow, 3 miles and he's still going Miko went through a stage like this too. He would wake me up every morning at 6 and still wanting to play at bedtime. LOL Needless to say, I wasn't getting much sleep. Good luck with Simon, I wish I had some tips for you!!!

| I think it is the time change. It is light early now, the birds are singing, and there are a lot more things outside to bark at (pets and people). Conner has been the same way this week. My sister takes him for walks and I take him for a walk. The only time he naps is when he has a bath and races around the house (he had a bath tonight, and took a little nap). Hopefully when they get accustomed to the change in daylight, they will go back to normal. They have spring fever!

| Wow a 3 mile walk every night. That's really far. And then having to carry Hallie most of the way, boy your really getting your exercise also. Have you given him any new treats or food lately that would give him that much more energy? Simon, slow down little guy.

| I think he just needs to spend some time with Katy. She is the same way! She can spend the day playing at day care, come home and want play ball for a couple of hours then take a walk. I almost forgot to mention, try to kill the little birds just leaving the nest and trying to fly. |

| by any chance have you changed his food lately? I had a similar problem with my maltese when I started feeding EVO...seems a higher protein can cause some "schizo" behavior!

| I haven't changed his food at all or rewards or snacks. Maybe it is just the weather and Spring. I'm tired |
