| AKC pedigree question Ok I got Annas AKC papers in the mail. And I opted to buy the pedigree and i have a question ok it appears that Annas mom (dam) was the product of half siblings. does that make sense? should that be allowed? Ok so basically her mom was born of two dogs that shared a dad or maybe a mom i cant tell which is which. So im just confused and another thing is their something i can with this? like put the names or numbers in and see how owns they or find their info out or anything interesting that i might want to do? |

| That doesn't sound good, but I have NO idea about breeding. I think if it wasn't allowed, the puppies wouldn't be allowed to be registered or something. I'm bumping this up so a breeder can answer your questions.

| do you have the names of the sire and dam of the puppy and their parents names? Parent to offspring or a mating between full siblings. Uncle-niece, aunt-nephew, half sibling matings, and first cousin breedings are called inbreeding by some and linebreeding by others. Good news is you can select the best traits, typing the next generation, the bad news it can back fire and bring forward serious faults. I hope this makes sense!
