| I saw a thing on Petedge.com about little medical bracelet kind of things to help identify puppies. That might be safer than ribbon, which could get chewed off easily. Different colored non-toxic nailpolish could work too...

| I use non toxic magic markers. I put a dot of different colour inside each pup's ear flap. I colour code their names along with their new owners when they are reserved. The colour wears off after a few weeks, but by then I can tell who is who by their looks. It has worked for me now for over five years with no ill results. |

| The magic maker works as long as mom doesn't keep licking it off! That what kept happening to me! I got little collar from petedge and cut them in half and works better for me! |

| for zoies pups I put a dot of paint-non tocix acrylic paint on their butts just about tail base. I rubbed the fur between my fingers to make sure to get it real wet with paint, then dott'd it. Zoie didn't like it off and it worked great. I liked the idea I didnt have to look in ears or toes to try to see who was doing what, just had to look at them and it was visable.
