People Can Be So Rude!!!!!
 
I was just outside holding Autumn and a older woman was out walking, she stopped to see the dog and asked what her name was. I told her Autumn and she wanted to know how I came up w/that. So I explained that she was going to be named Starr but when we saw that she was born on the first day of fall we decided to name her Autumn Star. The lady had the nerve to tell me that her name was "STUPID" and that I should of went w/my first choice. She wanted to know if my next puppy was going to be "Summer or Winter".
My hubby said as he continued gardening "Im sure at your age you have heard the saying if you have nothing nice to say then maybe you should not say anything!!!!"
Can you believe the balls of some people!!!:thumbdown :eek:

Wow, that was rude. I think the name Autumn Star is adorable. I love what your husband said.

Wow, she wasn't nice at all was she? I have never run into any rudeness ever concerning my dogs. I'm just galled that someone could say something like that..especially since she didn't even know you.

I agree; how rude. And don't listen, Autumn Star is a excellent name. Very unique, and perfect!!!

Yes rude indeed. I know how you felt. We just got our baby Yorkie girl Friday night and took her with us to my son's b.b. game. A woman there saw her and said "What is that? It looks like a rat." She said it with such disgust. I told her she is a Yorkie. She said "Well it looks like a rat and I have a big dog that would eat it as a snack." I answered her with "Well I don't need a big killer dog, I have a gun." LOL. I was pissed over the comment but I'm not going to aggrevate myself over it. Hubby said that I should have told her how much this rat cost. LOL. Elaine.

I am usually very quick to snap back at people but I was just so taken back. This lady was little and old and looked so sweet. I guess Jaws looked sweet to someone right before he ate them.

The nerve of that old bat and I'm so glad your hubby said what he did! She sounds like the type of person that is probably rude to everyone. Some people find joy in trying to ruin someone's day. Shame on her. Autumn Starr is a sweet name for your precious baby and I love how you came up with it!!!

I can't believe how many people make "rat" comments!!! I makes me so mad....!!! How many rats have they seen that have long hair?? How many rats have they seen with a stubby tail??? It just makes them sound stupid. :p Oh, by the way, Autumn Star is a very nice name.

Yes, I do think that is rude.

Seems like older people totally speak whats on their mind. Even my grandma does it... But I love her. She's told me my female is ugly because her features are bigger than my males, and she LOVES him... I just laugh and tell her I think she's gorgeous! I know she don't mean anything by it, and come on it's gramma, I LOVE HER! ;) Although, I'm not sure how I would react to a total stranger saying this, since I speak my mind too much as it is.... :rolleyes: Come to think of it, I know a few old hags like this that go to church with me (that sounds bad!), but they are truely mean!

Wow, I can't believe that someone actually said your dogs name was stupid? For real? That is so mean, what is with people, plus I didn't hear you say you asked her opinion?!!! All I can say is Autumn is a beautiful name. I just don't get it sometimes?!!!

Thanks...Izzie gets really mad when we put hoodies on her...she doesn't move, so we found the perfect photo op for Easter! :)

To each their own....I personally love the name Autumn Star. The lady was very rude though but you have to ignore rude comments, no sense in ruinning your day. Don't let it affect you. You love your Yorkie and you love the name, that is what is important. It doesn't matter what a stranger thinks. What did the lady say after what your husband said? It was a good come back. I have been told that my Yorkie reminds my sister in law of her childhood guinea pig. hahaha.....Oh, well! I still love my Murph, Murph!!! Have a great day.
