Even if her name was not to that ladies liking....she could have been more tactful about it. Some people just think that their poop doesn't stink and that they know everything!
I adore the name and it seems everyone else that has responded to your post does too! So that shows she is the dumb one!

That was very ignorant of her :thumbdown I love your little girl's name and the meaning behind it :D People can be so rude. I really have to wonder sometimes if they even realize their ignorance. Don't pay any attention to her. She's probably just jealous anyways ;)

I have a respond to that that works like a charm, shuts the other person up for sure and lets him/her stand there with the mouth open... just say: "Yes, you are absolutely right, dear!"

I read this post out loud to my boyfriend; he said that he LOVES the name Autumn and our next dog will be named Autumn. :)

Thanks everyone. I told my daughter what happened (she is 7) she was very annoyed. She announced at dinner that she would not be going to that mean old ladies house to sell her any girl scout cookies. My son (hes 4 and very quick witted) wanted to take Autumn to the ladies house and let her pee on her lawn. My husband and I just laughed and then tried to tell them that we dont have to act like that mean lady. They were not buying it!!!!:D

Seems like older people totally speak whats on their mind. Even my grandma does it... But I love her. She's told me my female is ugly because her features are bigger than my males, and she LOVES him... I just laugh and tell her I think she's gorgeous! I agree - some older people seem incredibly rude, but they may have a drop of Alzheimer's or who knows what. Some people are also just a little off even though they look normal, and you know what they say - every bad habit gets worse as you get older. I wouldn't take it personally. She probably insulted 15 other people the same day. Autumn is a beautiful name, and Yorkies do not look like rats.

I cant beleive she said that. its not like its her dog geez. And i think the name Autumn star is so cute. I love it. its unique. and i like unique names.
