Sammie goes in his carrier even when it's just sitting in the living room because ever since he was little...I would put him in there and then walk out of the house...

he soon associated the carrier with going outside and he loves going out.

I trained Teddy, when I first got him at 10 weeks old. I carried him in a carrier right away but for some reason he never liked it. When he was smaller he couldn't do anything about it because he was so tiny but now I just let him walk.

WOW 11 lbs? I would make my bf carry my dog if he weighed that much. Teddy is 8 lbs and my arms get tired from holding him

Friday is 3 lbs now and Monday is 4.5 lbs.

Cozy loves to get into trouble at home by running around like a mad women. But out in public she like to be carried or in her doggie bag. Almost forgot she is between 10 and 11 pounds. Depends on the day and the scale.

I do not think it has anything to do with the size, it is their personalities. I have a 13 lb Shih Tzu that perfers to be carried in a carrier or ride in a stroller. She is a diva through and through. I also have a 7 lb Yorkie who loves to walk. She will only get in the carrier or stroller when her little legs are too tired to go on. She is the exact opposite of her sister--she is pure tomboy!
