| I think it is some kind of food allergy. Diesel is going on 2 years and he doesn't shed. Even as a pup he didn't shed. They have hair and not fur. So it is to be expected to see a hair every now and then. We all loose hair here and there. I have never known a Yorkie to truly shed like German Shepherds, Golden Rets, Labs, Chihuahuas, and so on. I do know that a lot of dogs are allergic to Dried Beet Pulp. I use to feed Diesel the same food and his eyes really started to water. I took him off of the food and started feeding him Innova. His eyes have cleared up a lot! I would have him checked for an allergy or switch his food and see if it helps. He really shouldn 't be shedding like that.

| I'm sorry you're so frustrated. Maybe try changing his food and adding a good supplement like Missing Link?

| He could be allergic to the corn gluten meal and the beet pulp in it. I think I would switch his food. California natural has some pretty simple foods. Chicken Meal, Ground Brown Rice, Ground White Rice, Sunflower Oil, Natural Flavors, Taurine, Flaxseed, Vitamins/Minerals If something like this helps then you could add supplements later.

| My four-month old is also shedding, but not a lot and it goes away when I comb him regularly and the groomer said that this is okay since he is losing his puppy-coat. But his eyes also water a lot. Could he be allergic to his food? He has been on the same food since I got him (the breeder also gave him this type of food). Could it be the wet food (commercial) that I give him? Please help. I didn't realise this is weird until I saw this thread. |

| I just want to clarify that I give him dry food for one meal and wet food mixed with dry for his other meal (he won't eat more than this). |

| Me too Ive noticed that Izzy sheds a little too. Its not much, but I notice hair on one of the rugs in my bedroom and when I comb his hair a little bit comes out on the comb. It sounds like from the other posts that this is not normal because yorkies dont shed, but I was under the impression that their hair is like human hair and when you comb it it comes out a little and you will find strands of hair around...mine does that. I dont have any issues with my hair falling...I have plenty of it! He is a full bred yorkie, maybe I should check into allergies too?

| Yorkies actually shed. Yorkie terriers shed hair. However, there are many factors such as breed, season, and health that could affect it. A visit to your vet should help clear things. |
