How Long did you wait before getting your second Yorkie??? - Page 2 - YorkieTalk.com Forums

I got my second baby (little girl) just over 9 months after I got my first one (male) and am EVER so happy that I did!

I wouldn't change having two for anything in the world! However, I am extremely happy and content with just my two and yes, they ARE alot of work. Yorkies of course are very high maintenance and now that I have had my second baby for almost 3 months, I know that two is my limit. Taking care of them both is enough work for me as I do it all on my own, not to mention I already have 3 other babies (2 other dogs, and 1 cat, which is a total of 5 babies) so we are SO FAR beyond our limit of furbabies in this house. lol

I have my boy, and my girl - and that is all I need! We are perfectly happy in this house!

I got Rhapsody in Feb. 2006, and then had Tiger by the following April. We are now getting our third little boy in June.

We will eventually get at least one more; but my next one I really want to try the show ring with. So it'll probably be a couple years before our I find the 'perfect' show dog for me.

So I say, get one now. I don't regret it. I take them both out on leashes attached with a coupler. Now with the third, it'll be a little tricker, but I was already planning on giving my oldest child more responsibility on our walks. He's been begging to walk Tiger, and I think Tiger's trained well enough now so Jacob shouldn't have any troubles.

I have had Mickey for about 6 weeks. He is 16 weeks old now. We are hunting for his little sister as we speak! Can't wait! I think I may have found a puppy that will be ready to go home end of May/beginning of June! Very excited! :-) Good luck!

Hi, I got my first yorkie girl in January and then I got my second girl in May of the same year

I also have a male pekingese and I'd love to add another yorkie to our family some day. My pekingese is 12 and he LOVES having two little sisters around. He actually acts soooooooo much younger now. He's very playful with the girls and they love him just as much. My girls are so close in age and that really helped with training. My first girl was trained before I got my second girl and I swear the praising of the first girl helped my second girl to know exactly what to do. (I hope that made sense

) I believe having a playmate is wonderful for them. I hope your able to add another to your family real soon.

I got Dior my first yorkie in Nov. and Diesel my first maltese in Feb. There are plus and neg. for me. For the plus side they have each others company and the neg. Double the vet bills and clothing

. Other than that i love my babies

I've had Reggie for four years, I got him when he was eight weeks old. I bred him last week for the first time, hopefully will bring his baby home around the end of August. I would love to get a girl out of the litter but will settle for a boy.

See i knew there was a reason Nathan liked Tatum!!! she reminds him of his sister to come!!!

lol and Stedman had no problem with a new little girl in the mist of things?? was he fixed by the time you got her??How old was she when you brought her home??? Same breeder or different one??

lol but you seem to be doing what i eventually will be doing less the other 3 babies!!!! Bless you!!!

We got Hootie when Hobbs was 8 months old and we got our labrador, Lamar, when Hootie was 8 months old. I guess 8 months old is the magic number in our family. hehe

I had Maya my pom who was 8 when I got Cali and she is a cranky dog so not fun for Cali. This was the first time I had 2 dogs at the same time and I really liked it. But I still felt bad for Cali as Maya wasn't any fun for her. I got Cali in August of 2005 and I got Pixie in January of this year. Pixie was 13 months old so there is only 6 months difference in their age. It took awhile but they play/fight and sleep together. I say go for it. I love having the 3 and if I could afford it I would have another.

Oh honey! lol once you get a Yorkie you will always at some point want another! I have three dogs! I never even wanted one dog lol. Once I got Cookie I was obsessed/posessed lol I ended up getting a little girl but she was better with a family with no kids so I had to let her go. I got a Maltese and even though I love her ,I have such a great love for yorkies that I still wanted another one! I ended up getting a little boy almost 1 month ago.
I haven't taken all 3 out at the same time but I can since I put Angel (the baby) in the stroller. You won't regret getting another one!

Conner is now 14 months old. I am now looking for a little girl to add to the family. I will probably wait until June and get a girl from the same breeder that I got Conner from.

Tootie was my 4th furbaby first yorkie... he was 6 mos old when I came to yt and started looking. I found Hope here 1 month later but it was many months later when she finally came home. Tootie was 13 months old and I couldnt be happier with them!
