| black and tan coat adult yorkie, will it change? I was reading about thread about coats and growth charts .. maybe i didn't read it very clearly but did it talk about yorkies coats staying black? I was wondering this b/c my parents' yorkie, baloo, his fur is completely black with a light tan .. I haven't seen many pple's yorkies this color. so i was just wondering will it still change? I have notices some (like a few hairs dispersed in his black) white hairs around his back, but he's pretty dark black. just wondering...

| I have seen so many different colors on yorkies I am no help (haha). Simon is still fairly dark on his back and he is 3 but Hallie is completely silver. I bet someone else can give you a more coherent answer |

| My Otis stayed black. I kept expecting him to change but then someone told me to look at the roots of his hair. He never lightened. He's black, and he's beautiful!!! Check out my avatar and I'll post one more pic. notice the white blaze on his chest in the avatar, otherwise, beautiful black and gold

| I have Sammy and Sophie, who are both silver and tan, they had pups one of who is almost plantiam (sp) silver (Isis) and a sister litter mate (Miss Molly Malone) who stayed black with tan feet. Both are beautiful. Molly has long black hair and shows no sign of changing, the pups are now one year old. So who can tell what color they will be as they get older. We just love them all.

| first, blue on papers does not mean silver. The blue/gold is an almost black blue with gold. next black and tan or black and gold is one of the colors listed on the AKC papers. some blue/gold is lighter but it's more of a steel blue almost charcoal gray Some do stay dark and it's anybody's guess as to what they end up. some do end up what some people call silver. |

| no problem. some of them are a light silvery lookng blue but it isn't on the papers. most of mine are charcoal grayish looking blue on their backs andd lighter elsewhere. Like the ones in my avatar. That is what a lot of people call silver but it isn't. Last edited by Sugar's Mom; 04-25-2007 at 09:49 AM. Reason: addition |

| Yorkie coat color Hello. I have had 3 Yorkies..all of whom started out with black and sort of tan coats. Two turned into blue and golds. One has stayed black and gold, although the under hair is now turning silver. For me, it doesn't really matter as I do not show. I just love the little things. Sadielyn |
