Yes, it should be gaurenteed.....BUT Different states have different laws...in New York for example..it's only 14 days....UNLESS they provide papers signed agreeing to a one year health gaurentee for hereditary illnesses. I never signed any papers but the guy in Queens worked with me and in the end, was very sad and understanding for me as well I had Rio for a month and me, my boyfriend, and Sammie (yorkie) were very attached!! In memory of Rio....here's a video clip of when I first got her ..... I don't even know what to say! I'm so sorry this is happening. Poor Rio...she's so fragile. That surgery is real expensive. I hope she gets better and survives this. |

He should turn her over to Yorkie Rescue because if surgery can be done, then it should be done. They can help her get the surgery she needs. Surgery on these small dogs have been successful many, many times by vets with extensive experience with liver shunts. And like I said before, they do it at the University of Tennesse (the best place to go) for only around $1500 including pre tests, surgery, and post-op stuff...Maybe you could suggest this to him. This whole situation just stinks. Darn liver shunts! |

Sammie is sooo handsome and you can tell he's so smart and attentive!) btw .. does anyone kno what happens after the yorkie goes to yorkie rescue? are they put up for adoption to be put into a forever home? |
There is an excellent hospital in Philadelphia...a friend of mine just had his bichon operated on their for ls about a year ago. He's a tiny guy and he's doing GREAT. I know there are rescues in that area as well, maybe one will help. I'm soooo sorry you had to go through this. Poor little Rio:( :( :( |

I'm so very sorry that you're going through this. I'd definitely get in touch w/a rescue asap though, because the sooner the surgery is done the better. If you need any help contacting rescues, making calls, emailing, ect.. please let me know. I would be happy to help in any way I can! |
I am so sorry, little Rio is adorable, she deserves a chance, and I hope she gets it. I do support your decision, hopefully it was the right thing to do. This is just too sad. |

I kept hoping that it was something else:( I am so ,so sorry you have gone through this. I don\'t know what I would have done myself. I am praying so much that she can get this surgery and have a chance at life. I know she is tiny but there are lots of Places that are experts in this surgery for tiny ones.
