| Yorkie Sleeping Habits This question is basically for those who have been throught the puppy stage and/or have owned a yorkie for many years or been through this issue..because you have probaly experienced what I am going through. When I first got MAXIMUS I begged for him to sleep through the night..mission accomplished..I didn't ming that he woke up at 5:48...on vets suggestions I started going to bed later (we are at almost midnight now)..so maybe he would sleep later...only effect is that I know get EVEN LESS sleep because I still have to wake up at 5:48. Do they eventually sleep later?...I wouldn't even mind him getting up so early IF HE WOULD LET ME SLEEP...LOL, but he wants to play (which is understandable since he has been sleeping and now has bundles of energy)..but I'm POOPED...so my questions is does it get better??? Does anyone has suggestions on how they got their dog to sleep at a reasonable time and wake at a reasonable time (I'm not asking for much....6:30-6:45 but 7 am would be GREAT ....)...Please help my eyeballs are about to fall out..literally |

| I guess I am lucky Cosmo gets up at almost 8 hours after we put him in his kennel. If we put him in there at midnight he is ready to go at 8.

| Mine are both big time sleepers from the start! I don't know what I'd do if they woke before 6am??? They even sleep later than I do some days!

| play time or poopy time? Coco will wake up at 6am on the dot. But I always assume that she wakes up to go potty because she always goes poopy at 6:15am. Yes I know she has a funny but strangely accurate poppy schedule. During weekdays I wake up to play with her but on the weekends I get her to go back to sleep. . So once she goes potty, I don't play with her, I just put her back in her bed, and hop back into bed. She may whimper for a couple of minutes but after a minute or two she gets the idea. She let me sleep till 930am this weekend. I hope that helps. |

| LOL..Maximus does the same thing...(with the poop)..but then he is barking like crazy and all I see over the side of the bed are a little piece of his head and his ears in the air as he tries to jump on the bed...this will go on for an hour..but I don't want to wake up the landlord so I bring him on the bed..where he preceds to lick and bite my nose, lips eyes...etc...lol...so I try to bribe him with food...lol he eats in in like 2 seconds and then I see the ears again.. |

| Now I'm thinking there's something wrong with Stewie. He'll stay in bed as long as I do. He falls asleep around 1030 or 11 every night -- right after he decides to eat and will stay in bed with me until as late as I sleep. Saturday it was until 1PM! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...e/80ac94ca.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...e/f2ee8020.jpg

| My Tucker is an angel in this respect, I happen to consider sleeping in until 1 or 2 pm on weekends my favorite leisure time activity! Since Tuck has his litter box in my room and can get in and out of my bed on his pillow pile, and most importantly, his kitten, Nicky, is locked out of the room, he will sleep as long as I do, curled up under my neck - when I flip to the other side, he crawls over or behind my head to get back under my neck. Not sure if this makes a difference, but I live in Florida - we're already in the 90's, and I keep my a/c on COLD at night - like about 68 -so maybe he just stays for warmth too... But I love him for it. That's my boy! Dana |

| Stomp (real name is Stomper) will go to bed around 8:30 PM and will get up around 5:30 AM. I too had the same problem getting no sleep. UNTIL... I moved him out of my room. He now sleeps in the living room. He USED to cry at my door. I ignored him. Now... he is used to it and won't bug me (cry) until around 6:30-7 AM. You have to be consistent. He is only 6 months old, but it took a few weeks of ignoring him. This is hard if your little baby is not potty trained. Stomper is potty trained so he will not do his business in our house. I hope this works for you too!

| I would jump for joy if Dixie went to sleep at midnight and slept even to 5am. Her schedule seems to be a 30-45min nap at 9pm then she is up past 3am and back up just after 5 am. Most sleep I've had since she came home last week is 4 hrs one night-only because hubby got up with her and let me sleep=). She takes maybe 2 small naps thru the day and she plays hard no idea why she doesnt sleep. She can fall asleep on her pillow, be sound asleep for 10mins and be totally tuckered out when she layed down. She hears a noise and she is bouncy and ready to play for hours.

| Bella goes to sleep in her playpen (a kids one from Walmzrt) at 10pm and is sitting there looking at me in the morning when I wake up around 6am. She doesn't bark anyways so wouldn't to wake me up. I have a wee wee pad in there but she doesn't use it - it's for accidents. Once she did use it and did cry in the middle of the night for me to remove it. I did and then she went back to bed. She LOVES to sleep, sometimes she goes to the playpen and sits next to it, until we put her in. She is a real sleepyhead

| My boys are sleepyheads. They usually have to go to the bathroom around 6am, but then they go back to sleep with my husband and don't even notice when I get ready and leave in the morning because they are fast asleep. |
