| Impulse Eating??? This is really weird. I feed Starsky and Shylah their food twice a day. Starsky will let Shylah eat what she needs, and then he will nibble a little and just sit and guard his food. He will hear a dog barking on TV, outside or my beagle howling at something and then he jumps up and stars downing his food! Then he'll stop for awhile, guards his food, until he hears this all again. Sometimes he'll just hear my beagles tags shaking as he walks around. He is so protective of his food. He won't eat it unless these noises occur. Isn't this weird?? In the past my beagle would always sneak and eat Starsky's food when he and I weren't looking. So now we kindof guard Starsky and Shylah's food until they are done eating. I have even moved it high where the beagle can't jump (like my bed) and let the yorkies eat. I feel bad that Starsky is so neurotic about guarding his food. I always gave him more if the beagle ate it.

| Maybe it's a yorkie thing. My Lexie won't eat unless the cat, Siris, is in the kitchen. I literally have to say "Lexie, eat before Siris does" then she'll go to eating. If she walks away from it and Siris starts to eat it I have to say "UH UH! Siris!" then Lexie will start eating again. It's kind of ritualistic. Maybe OCD? LOL |
