Any words of wisdom regarding the timing of purchasing a new puppy? Our older dog just passed away. Our little Yorkie is 2 years old, a boy. Should we find a new friend soon while he is still sad or would it be better to wait awhile? Any thoughts?

I think its whenever your heart feels better and is ready to love a new family member.

I'm sorry about your older dog passing. I would have to base any decision about adding a new edition to the home on how well your 2 year old does by himself. If he seems to be extremely sad about the loss of his buddy then getting another puppy might be what he needs. I would wait to see what is best for him, as I truely believe he will lead you in your future decision!!

How about any thoughts regarding whether it is better to add a boy or girl puppy to a boy Yorkie household? Mighty Titan is a 2 year old boy and we want to add another. We think a boy would probably be best. I am concerned about whether there would be a constant battle for who is in charge.
