| Wall Chewing My little sweetheart has decided to chew on my walls. What do I do about this? I make sure she has plenty of chew toys, food and water are always accessible. At night or when I leave her at home she dives into my sheetrock. The first two times she did it I thought she was lonely so I started making our other dog sleep with her. That seemed to work. Yesterday, I left the two of them together, free roam of the house and came home to a hole in the wall in my entryway. Again, toys galore and they had each other for company. I don't like the idea of crating them everytime I am gone. Any suggestions? |

| I just found mine doing that three days ago....I sprayed apple cider vinegar on it & he hasn't touched it since...I had to find something that was safe to ingest but at the same time he would hate...so far so good....

| Just yesterday I fixed a wall that they had chewed. My suggestion, would be to put them in an x pen when you aren 't able to watch them. |

| I will try that because my husband it pretty ticked off. We will have to repair the hole and then paint the whole room. He is not a happy camper right now. |

| Rocky went through that phase as well when he was 6-8 months i have like 5 corner walls where the molding is chewed on and paint misisng. My Bf was mad as well i tried the sour apple spray it worked at first but then i think he liked the taste of it. Then i would just pour some regular white vinegar and he wouldnt touch it thank goodness he stopped now he's 1 so hopefully he wont start chewing again.

| I'm glad someone asked this. Ralfie has DESTROYED the corners of my walls. I plan on moving this summer from my apt to a house, so I'm trying to completely train him to be "housebroken" (in more ways than one and two ) by the time I move. Fortunately my BF is a contractor so he is going to fix up the place so I don't lose my deposit.

| Yup Mine chewed holes in the walls too! This is what I did! Indoor pen when I couldnt watch them. That way they couldn't get to the wall! Its the only thing I found that worked! I fixed the hole once and they just redid it in the same spot... Luckily those 'puppy' days are over!!!

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | Drywall?? Is it drywall? My Sheltie chewed holes in the wall and my vet said it is VERY high in protein. She was on a low protein diet due to compromised liver and craved the protein.

| Do the holes look like THIS Here are 2 beautiful examples of my puppy's handiwork. This one is in the gated area that they stay in all day. Plenty of toys, plenty of room to move - they attacked the defenseless wall. (Notice they stopped when they hit the stud? You can see the nail in the stud.) This one (aslso in the same gated area) they started, must've gotten bored and decided to leave it alone. It's been there several weeks in this same state. I was waiting to see if they would continue damaging the walls, but alas - they seem to have stopped. We will now attempt to repair the damage. (Notice I said 'attempt'....) |
