| mine does it too! Mine started at a young age too .. 3-4 months old! he'd hump my parent's yorkie (who's a boy!), his toys, and sometimes my arm when i hold him! I was quite startled too when he first did it. He's neutered and he still does it a little, not so much like before. But funny thing is, when I was little, we had a girl yorkie who'd hump our male maltese!! so its not just for the boys apparently. btw .... cookie2 your baby puppy is SO CUTE! and chubbytn, you boy is so handsome! both of you have very adorable babies!

| Don't feel bad my baby boy Memphis started humping shortly after we brought him home!!!! And my father in law would just roll over from laughing so hard, while I was upset when ever Memphis would start humping . I mean he is just a baby, MY BABY! But I told him no when every he would start humping and he has not humped anything (as far as I know) since Febuary. Now I understand that this is a natural thing, but there is a time and place for everything. I did not want him running up to so random object/person/dog/kid and start humping the crap out of it.

| Let me ease your mind to say this is totally normal. He is a dog, so to him it isn't gross. I knows lots of little female dogs that "hump" too. My guy only humps his special pillow (I don't know how to tell him it will never return the same affection!!). I just let him. My new puppy is starting to hump my other guy so I am going to curtail that. He will be neutered this month. Even neutered dogs hump. I wouldn't make a big deal about it (remember, they are doing what is natural to them, but we are trying to get them to fit into our world. I usually try to draw the attention elsewhere with a toy or something. So, don't worry, nothing is wrong. Next time he "humps" your leg, make a noise (such as clap or something) and then redirect his attention to a toy or something else. I try not to say NO as that word is soo overused in the dog world that I don't think dogs know what it means other then the owner says it alot!!! Kathy |

He is perfectly normal. His male hormones are just being active. Try giving him a small pillow or bear. This is not something you want him to do in public so tell him no and remove him from legs. He will understand you soon. Tell him each time with a shameing no. I hope this helps. I am a breeder for 40 years. Time flies when you love the dogs. Glory

Unless your planning on breeding your dog you should think about getting him neutered! It would keep him from humping you and other things plus add health benefits to his life. When a male reaches 6months of age it should be done. They sometimes continue to hump for about 1-2 months then stop. The hormones that cause this to happen are now gone. I have never seen Buddy's or has he humped anything since he was neutered at 6months old.
