Is humping bad? Wesley has had a stuffed rabbit since we got him. When he was 6 month old, he started humping it. We had him neutered about a month later. Anyway...he stopped humping for about a year. Now he is 19 months and he has started humping his rabbit every night. This this something I should stop? I feel like he isn't doing anything bad, so I don't like scolding him for it. Any advice? |
I don't know about this someone will answer you soon |
I'm no expert but I don't think there is anything wrong with that....Marley does it all the time.....I buy them loofa dogs very often:p |
I Have A Female I don't know if that normal but my female yorkie 2 1/2 years old hump all her stuff animals also she loves my husband leg when he have white socks .Is kind of funny . |
I should also add...I don't let Wesley hump when we are at the dog park or with doggie friends. So is it confusing for him to not be allowed to hump other doggies, but allowed to hump his stuffed animal? :idontknow |
I'm glad you brought this up. My sister passed away last month and that is all her yorkie does. I hate taking my girls around him cause he doesn't leave them alone. I feel bad cause I know he is lonely but my 13 year old nice is taking care of him. |
I personally would discourage all humping. Even though it is just a toy it encourages that behavior. |

well heck - romeo was not even 2 months and he was humping his little puppy dog!:p he doesn't do it often enough for me to discourage it as some have suggested and when he does it is not long - just a couple of times. i guess he wears himself out!:D |
Ohhh mannnnnnnnn.....I call Louie my little "Humpty Dumpty" because he has this huge stuffed monkey that he likes to hump. If he knows I see him then I say no and discourage it, but sometimes I "pretend" I dont see him because I feel bad for him. |
I guess I really don't have that problem...except wiith my female toy poodle...i see her sometimes trying to hump 1 of my other dogs...and i thought that was too crazy... |
I read someplace that its a sign of dominance. Never let them "hump a person" they are trying to dominate you. I also saw a Dog wisper show about a dog that did this and he said the same thing |
Winnie humps her duck...and it honks with each hump. My hubby and I find it hilarious, I wouldn't be able to mutter no even if I wanted to. She used to try to hump my arm, but I stopped that behavior quick. She only humps ducky now and as long as it stays that way, it's ok by me. |
