Jake has a stuffed rabbit that I've seen him humping a couple times. He has never tried to hump anyone. I didn't make a big deal out of it. My vet said that it's a way for them to show dominance. I just got him interested in playing, and he stopped. |
I had some eldeerly friends in Texas some years ago. They had a poodle that they adored. Everytime I went to their house, the dog was constantly on my leg or my foot, humping. They appeared not to notice. I thought it was extremely rude of them to ignore it, most especially because I was continuously saying "NO! Louie! No!" Needless to say, I was not a frequent visitor at their house. Though it is also 'natural instinct' for them to squat and pee or poo wherever they feel like it, we all try to train them not to do that. Bad habits are bad habits. |

chester has several stuffed toys he humps and he does it on his back, I just watch and smile. |
My cocker would try to hump my son when he was younger and he would just stand there and let him. I told him not to let Jaxon do that and he says, "Why Momma? Jaxon just wants to dance." It was funny coming from a 5 year old but I explained to him that dog's don't "dance." From then on, he'd tell Jaxon "No, Jaxon! I can't dance with you anymore!" My son is now ten years old and Jaxon has learned that he can't do that anymore...thank goodness! |

Well, I've only seen this twice so far and not really sure it that's what's going on, but my Tyson may be humping his bed. But I thought that when they are "fixed" that doesn't happen any more ?? |
