| Bella passed out and gave us a scare She was playing in the back yard and doing fine (with my son), then she starting gaging like she was going to throw up but kept doing it with nothing coming out (not her honk cough either).....I ran over to her and she fell sideways and passed out and wasn't breathing as far as we could tell. We picked her up, removed her harness and rubbed her throat and she started breathing again. When she came in she spit up a bit but not really throwing up. She is fine now and we have kept a close eye on her for the last 4 hours. She is eating, drinking, running around now. Not sure what happened? Has this happened to anyone before? Maybe she had something stuck in her throat and the rubbing helped move it down? It scared me to death

I didn't think about that........I did give her some Nutrical when she came in. She hadn't been eating well the last two days, I bet that was it. I will give her some more tonight and keep a closer eye on her. She did finally eat just about an hour ago. She hasnt' had that problem in a while as she is pretty big and healthy over 4 lbs already only 18 weeks old Thanks

| Gawsh, that sounds so scary. Until my babes are well past 6 months of age, I have NutriStat in every nook and cranny. Just pry open the mouth enough to squirt the stuff under her tongue. If that happens again, give her the nutri stuff and head for the vet. He might want to do blood work or an x-ray to see if the trachea is mis-shapen.. I surely hope it does not happen again.. |

They did do blood work about a month ago when she became very dehydrated. They did the bubble thing on her back and said her white blood cell count was off from the kennel cough infection. She has a vet appt Friday so I will mention what happened to her. Thanks again everyone, I hadn't used that nutrical in weeks and as soon as I saw that post it dawned on me, I bet that's it

| I hope she is back to eating again soon! I would give her some more right before she goes to bed just in case her blood sugar is low. When Bunny was still under 2lbs I was so scared of anything like that happening that from reading about it happening to other's yorkies, that even if she did eat, I wuld giver her NutriStat/Cal right before she went to bed! Rini- I am the same way.. I even keep some in my glove compartment just in case something ever happened and we were in the car for a long time! Just paranoid, I guess, but these are my children!!!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Tammy that was very quick thinking on your part - good for you cause you saved her life ! I probably would have been hysterical - How scary !!! ...I think you just got the best advise you can get from the other posts....I hope it doesn't ever happen again but if by chance it does - you already know how to react and then get to the vet asap - Give your baby a big kiss from Texas and tell her not to give her mommie anymore frights Be proud of your actions - that was really great that you got her breathing ! |

Thanks, but I didn't know what to do - it was just the first thing I thought of. I just had read here on YT that people rub their babies throat when they have the trachia problems and it was the only thing I could think of to do. Oh and I was hysterical - I yelled at my son (he's 21) she's not breathing

| What a scare! I am so glad you were watching her and were able to get her breathing again. I can imagine how scarey that was.. So glad to hear she is back to herself again this evening. |
