| Writing a Book Hello, some of you know me. I'm a writer, not that I've made much money at this, but . . . right now my official job is Accounting Specialist with a family owned CPA Firm. But I've always written poems and short stories, some that have been published in magazines (embarrassed to say that I haven't submitted anything good enough to be published since my first child was born 8 years ago, but I have lots of unfinished fiction laying about, lol.) Anyway I've been tossing this idea around for a while, and I've got unofficial interest from an Editor. Without a transcript, she won't go any further. Here's my pitch: I want to write a book about Yorkshire Terriers. Not just a care and health book, but this and more. I want to share information and stories from actual Yorkie showers, breeders, and owners. Like I said, health and info, but stories (cute stories, fun stories, sad stories, and cautionary stories) -- crafts, little tricks and know-hows. Something that would appeal to those who love this breed as I do. This also includes Yorkie mixes. . .and who knows what else will be added before it's done, lol. My editor (I can't release name and affiliation without an official thumbs-up) loved the idea. She owns a Yorkie mix and began telling me stories of her own. . . Anyway, I'd like to use Yorkie Talk and it's members as a resource. In exchange, which I'd probably do anyway, (if the book takes off) I'd have a certain percentage of the proceeds going directly to Yorkie Talk to help with the care and maintence of this wonderful site. (Please, admin, if there are any legal ramifications let me know -- this book is only in it's infant stage, and if need be when it's done a transcript copy can be released to you.) It will take a least a year to collect and write, but what I would request of these members are stories, funny. . . cute. And also pictures. The stories don't have to be in perfect grammer and spelling; I will be rewriting the material. If it's included in the book, you will be notified -- I'll send a copy of the finished story. . . advice. . . research . . . or picture (whatever it is) in the form that it will be in print. Also, in the book credit will be given to whomever the story (advice, research, or picture) has come from unless requested to withhold this information. I know this a long post, but I want to get started on this immediately, and I'd really appreciate help from other members! PM me with any stories . . . advice . . . or hints. If you have pictures that you think belong in a book; again PM me, and I'll send you an email address that can be used to submit these. Please give me a little information about yourself (mainly your name, name and age of Yorkie (if picture, or story), and basic demographic: example: Jessica, Edmond, OK -- Tiger & Rhapsody, 1 year. Then on to story, advice, ect. Also, especially on advice, a little background such as: "Owning, breeding, and showing for 12 years." Or something like that, hope this makes sense. Any questions are welcomed, and I'll answer these as honestly as possible. Until I have contract with my editor, and/or publisher there is some information I can't release. . . I'll also of course be trolling about if I see something I'd like to use; I'll PM the author with the inquires. Thank You, Sincerly Jessica Rischbieter

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | It sounds like a tragic mistake to me - one I'm sure she lives with every day of her life. How very sad.

| Jessica, I wish you good luck in writing your book. It sounds like an interesting idea that will appeal to a niche'. ~Lorene
