| My Baby is not a Baby Hello to all, I am new in this site. I was browsing around and I bumped into this wonderful and may add helpful site. I have beautiful Yorkie. She is 8 months and I just noticed she is in HEAT! Now, I am worried about taking her out because I am afraid that some other dog is going to mate with her. My mother has a Yorkie too but to my luck he is not around, which I am extremely happy for!! Is she too young to get pregnant? I'm I over reacting? Could she still get pregnant on the months that is not in heat? PLS... HELP!! Worried, Rose |

| Welcome to YT! My female is only 5 months old but when she does go into heat I'll be sure she has a diaper on whenever we go outside.

| Yes, any heat can mean pregnancy. Keep the boys away. LOL

| I just think 8 months is so young for a puppy to have puppies. My cousin was just laughing at me. Tells me I am over reacting... Perhaps I am... I don't know. When she was just a few months old I said, "Well, she is going to have puppies with my mother's Yorkie "Charlie" But now, is an entire different song. I don't want Charlie near her at all. I don't even want my mother to know Molly is in heat. When is a good time to allow your dog to do the nasty? LOL |

Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | a dog can get pregnant at any heat...regardless of age...but to be safe you must not breed until the 2nd heat... so put the diaper on and never take your eyes off of her to prevent unwanted pregnancy.. good luck!

| OMG! Do I have a lot to learn! So these diapers she will wear when we go out and she's around other dogs? I am afraid Molly will just tear them apart. She's an extremely happy dog, she loves to tear things apart. |
