| How many of us are totally honest with Spouse on our Yorkie Spending Budget? lol I was just wondering how many more pet owners go a little overboard with spending on those " Must Have" items? I usually take a break from buying constantly. But for a few months I was getting a new outfit for Cookie in the mail at least once a week! My 2 daughters were really, really annoyed and jealous! lol My husband would just ask " What did he have to have now?" Even though he's way more accepting than some other spouses I know. Today I did not ask if we can stop by Home Depot because I wanted to get a 4 drawer chest that I can put Cookie's armoire ontop. I just said I'm going because his things dont fit in the armoire and he "needs" to have his winter outfits in the drawers for now. My husband just started cracking up and he went with me,got home ,we built it and then he sees me folding all Cookie's sweaters and jackets. My husband actually still did not believe me lol. He said " Were you serious? This was actually for the dog?" lol I made myself a promise that I will take another break within 2 weeks! What kind of addiction is this! lol 3 outfits should be here by Monday and I'm not even showing hubby! Genie,Cookie & Lola |

| Well this should be an interesting thread! I use my own money to get Jaden and Jewelina new things so I don't have to ask anybody I'm sure I would be put in the overboard category. I work as a paralegal and I am also as a part time personal trainer and do modeling on the weekends. I could probably quit being a personal trainer if I stopped buying Jaden and Jewelina things. I always tell people I got that third job to support my shopping addiction for my yorkies |

| Is buying a few outfits a week and toys every 2 weeks bad? LOL! I said after this week I would not buy anything else for a month. I don't think that will last very long. I'll tell him I got such and such for the girls and he just says "Cool". Luckily my husband never says anything about my spending or even asks how much. He knows better, LOL! |

| My VISA bill is way out of control, but that began long before a Yorkie came into my life!! My money, my bills, though hubby often reminds me that I need to work towards paying it off. When new stuff comes in, it gets hung right in the closet. He will ask if I made that or where do you get that.

| It's all has to do with HOW you start the presentation: "Hi Honey, look what I found, & I SAVED $45.00 on it "

| I am with the other poster, as long as the bills are paid on time, my husband doesn't care what I spend. I have a zoo and he knows I spend way to much on them. But he also knows they all have the best care and are well loved. He has occasionally made a comment about the vet bills, especially when I got my puppymill baby Yorkie Bijou. He made reference that we was going to have to get a second job. LOL On a side note, away from buying stuff for the pets, you should see me load the car up after a day of garage saling. Oh my, I truly need help in that department.

My girls have their own bedroom filled with beds, toys, clothes, stollers and we have car seats for each of them. Over the top - maybe. My Yorkies are my children - they go to work with me, shop with me, love me unconditionally so why shouldn't they get to dress cute, eat well and have whatever toys they want? Oh and hubby - well he's lucky we allow him live with us. | |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | I work so I don't have to justify my spending. My hubby would be ok with it any way it happened anyhow...he has his addictions of electronics, video games and computer hardware...lol. So it all works out. I figure if the bills are all paid and you have the spare cash then do what you want with it. If you are at the point where you are spending and not paying your bills then something is wrong.

| Well, hubby and I have separate spending accounts, since we both have our "hobbies". He loves to play poker. I like to buy books, stuff for Percy, and PJ's for myself. As long as any "accessories" come out of my personal account. Hubby doesn't mind, he has the same rule about his poker money. Although, he did see the invoice for the grooming supplies and asked why i didn't just use the stuff i use on my hair, since my hair was so nice since it would have saved me $100. I don't really go nutty on clothes, as Percy hates them, but, we do have a collection of collars, harnesses, and grooming supplies that are growing quickly.
