| They aren't really saying that was the cause are they? Here is part of the story. The new finding comes a week after scientists at the New York State Food Laboratory identified a rat poison and cancer drug called aminopterin as the likely culprit. They have since detected melamine as well, although it is not clear how that chemical would have poisoned pets. |

| I guess what they are saying is that they found 'another' unapproved chemical in the food and in the sick animals - that obviously is harmfull and deadly. Sorry, I guess I titled my thread wrong |

No Longer a Member | Whoa...did anyone catch this part of the article: "...The apparently melamine-contaminated wheat gluten also was shipped to an unnamed company that manufactures dry pet food. The FDA is attempting to determine if that product, imported from China, was used to make any pet food, Sundlof said...." Ummm...do we ever get to find out which company this is?!! Why do they get to go "unnamed"? Just because they want to protect their profits, while we continue to feed our pets dry food that could have been contaminated? What is up with that????!!!!!! |

I agree with you. The buyer should know who it is so we can stop feeding it to ours dogs before they get sick and die. Are they going to wait until it is too late like they did for many dogs on the wet food? Doesnt make sense to me. | |

| I am so.... worried now, that they said it could be in the dry food also. They REALLY, REALLY need to tell everyone what brand of dry food that is. It's like someone else said, are they going to wait till dogs start getting sick on that before they inform the public.
