Bettyeanne and TOTO need your help Do any of you Live near columbia MO This is what Bettyeanne wrote: Patrick hasn't been feeling well and yesterday we decided to stop in Columbia to stay the night. We stopped around 2, thinking we would just take the afternoon to rest from driving. He was having pain in his stomach. Later on, it began to be excruciating! Since we can't leave Toto in the room at the hotel and didn't want to leave her in the car, he was just going to take a cab to the ER and get checked out. All the cab's were tied up so one of the girls at the hotel desk took him to University of Missouri Hospital ER. He was there until after 2:30 AM undergoing tests, CatScan, etc. and they diagnosed it as Diverticulitis, gave him pain meds, antibiotics and prescriptions for more. He felt a tad better this AM .... I got the prescriptions filled and gave them to him. Around noon the pain was so unbearable he was almost screaming and could hardly stand up. Scared me spittless so I threw he and Toto in the car and rushed him back to the ER. I had no choice but to leave Toto in the car in her crate and ran back & forth all afternoon cooling the car down and letting the AC run!! She was mortified! I am just desperate because they insisted that Patrick be admitted and I have no idea when he will be released. I spoke with Cindy [my daughter-in-love] this afternoon and she said she and my son would come up and get her this week-end but it's our granddaughter's Senior Prom and I cannot allow them to do that. Prom is a big deal and I won't make it home but I won't let them miss it! Geez ... I'm rambling ... sorry! I don't trust anyone with Toto but thought if we had a YT member here in Columbia, I would trust them with her. Right now, I'm just beside myself and will probably be thinking more clearly tomorrow!! If any one can help Please PM Bettyeanne thank you |
Oh, that is so scary! If I were closer, I'd be there in a heartbeat! Someone here is bound to be in that area and willing to help out. Sending lots of get well prayers for Patrick!! |
I wish I were closer, too. I would be more than happy to help. I've know many people with diverticulitus and it can be terribly painful. I pray that Patrick starts feeling better soon. |
Thank you Angie I Am still trying to help and looking like crazy all the members I have found that live in MO are either to far or not on :( I guess we'll just have to keep this on top for a few. |

Are there any pet friendly hotels in the area or maybe reputable doggie daycares just till Patrick gets better.Glad you got him to the hospital. Best of luck! :roses: :roses: :2hearts2: |
oh good! looks like help is here... do you have her phone number daisymae? i hope someone does |
Quick thought...if there's no YT members close, how about contacting a local Vet's office? Maybe they could put her in touch with a pet sitter or somebody who could help out. I would love to think, under the circumstances, most people would be willing to help. |
Excellent idea to call a local vet and she is in a bind. |
