.... Thank you Lori! We finally got home late Wednesday after yet another scarry incident! This one not health related, thank God. We finally were getting close to home, when, near Decatur [at Priceville, AL] we were zipping down the interstate, me behind the trailer. I noticed what appeared to be something on one of the front tires. I watched it a couple of minutes, then rang Patrick on the walkie talkie to tell him. He stopped as soon as he could and it was a big air bubble on the inside of the tire! [This is a
brand new 20' utility trailer so having a problem with it was the furtherest thing from our mind!!] We got off the interstate at Priceville and found a tire place to get it checked. The man told Pat that he was one lucky man ... every one like that he had ever seen had
exploded!!! We got a new tire and he checked the other three really good and we were back on the road in a short time. I think it was around 7 when we finally got home. My sweet kids were there to welcome us .... everything was neat as a pin! My son keeps our yardwork done and my daughter-in-love had cleaned my house [I haven't been home since December] ... even leaving it clean when we leave, it still gets a little yucky being closed up for so long!
It has been so hectic getting everything unpacked and it will take me until fall to get it all sorted out, etc. When we travel we invariably end up with 2-3 or everything and I had bought a few more pieces of furniture for our Condo in CO that I just couldn't part with .... you know the drill!! :p
Patrick is finally beginning to feel somewhat better .... just can't seem to get his strength back. He will still have to undergo yet another round of tests at UAB when the diverticulitis is all healed up but we are remaining very optimistic. The University of Missouri Hospital and the doctors were excellent, but when they talked about surgery, we just knew we would rather be in familiar surroundings!
We extended our stay here a couple of days [until the 12th] to give Pat a couple of extra days. We will fly back to GJ to pick up our motorhome and Jeep and hopefully be able to enjoy
this trip back home!! We want to take our time and actually
look around at things we just had to zip by on this last trip!! Toto wants to go to "Oz" ... don't know what it is but we saw all the ads! We also want to again visit the "Cathedral of the Plains" at Victoria, KS. It's such a beautiful surprise! We had planned to visit our friends in Chicago but under the circumstances, we feel it will be too much for Patrick!! :(
Didn't mean to ramble ... just wanted to update and tell everyone again how very much we appreciate your help and for being there for me at one of the most frightening times of my life!! I love you all so much and appreciate your being such wonderful friends!
Happy Easter!!!
