Great thread! Thanks...I've been really worried about treats since the recalls began.

The carrots are somewhat returned to you, but they make great teethers for puppies. I don't think it hur5 them not to digest the whole thing. Should the green beans be raw or cooked?

i use the canned one, i think if i got the fresh ones, i would probably
cook them alittle bit

Its just getting too scary anymore. All mine are going to get are healthy treats and chicken soup for the puppy/dog lovers soul anymore! Oh and bully sticks.

Ya know what? I've given my babies carrots, canned green beans, and apple pieces and always thought to myself "only give her a tiny piece!!!! I don't want to make her sick"!!!

And here all along its what I SHOULD have been giving them!!!!

Of course, they'll try other snacks you don't want them to have. One time we were in the Ozarks and Muffin was sitting between us. We had pizza. I had a slice in my hand and I was gazing out the window and not paying a bit of attention to Muffin and all of a sudden I felt this tugging on my pizza!

I found a book at Barnes & Nobles called "The Ultimate Dog Treat Book", my precious babies have liked everything I have made them. Everything is made of natural ingredients, and you get more treats than the recipe states because you make the sizes smaller for our little babies.

There is a chapter in the book on foods you can make for special occassions: birthdays, Valentine's Day, Thanksgivng and Christmas. It's a great book and most of the receipes are very easy and are done in 15 minutes.
