| What age do you all have your babes neutered/spayed? Scruffy is 4.5 months, and is starting to lift his leg everywhere(not in the house yet!!!), so I am really wanting this done so that we aren't dealing with this at friends' houses etc.... I searched posts, but didn't find much about ages. Thanks! |

| My vet neuters at 4 months and up. I would say as long as he's healthy, go for it!

| OH...............and another thing. Did anyone notice any change in personality or anything?? Is there ANY change in anything that you noticed? Also, some of my friends say that I will be surprised at how they seem TOTALLY NORMAL (like nothing happened) when they leave the vet office....but my friends don't have Yorkies, they have bigger dogs......did you guys find that they were JUST NORMAL when you picked them up....like nothing happened? Thanks for the replies so far!! |

| Chachi didnt have any personality changes at all. He did gain weight but I cant say if that was from the neuter or because he was still growing. And yes he did come home from thhe Vet acting as if nothing happened. We had to be careful with him to keep him calm. He kept jumping so we had to put him in his XPen.

| I think that with boys younger is definately better, but you will need to make that decision with your vet, and depending on his size. |

| Depending on the size of your boy, I would get him neutered between 4-6 months old.

| Pepper was neutered right after he turned 6 months. He hadn't started lifting his leg yet and I think it prevented it as well. As long as you have OK from the vet, go for it.

| My vet wouldn't neuter Rudy till he was 6 months old. And believe me I was happy to see that day come. He was humping everything. That was 6 months ago and after that I haven't seen any personality change in him. Every now & then he will still hump something, but he's still the same wild Rudy as before. Some people even ask us if we've had him neutered, cause they say it usually slows them down, Not My Rudy. Hee! Hee!
