| Growing Up! Gracie will be a year old on friday and i was wandering about changing her to adult food? She is almost out of food so i was wandering if i should switch her or keep her on puppy food ? And when switching from puppy to adult do you have to do it gradually too? Thx!

I don't know the answer to your question but I'm waiting for the other posts. My Riley made 1 year last week & I'll have to buy more food soon.

well, i think that puppy food is given up to 10-12 months old and to give them adult food once they are past that age. as far as transition from one to the other, as long as they are the same brand, i dont think it matters. you can probably mix them so that you can finish the puppy food. there are also brands that are good for both puppies and adults.

Puppy food usually has more fat content than regular food. If she's a good weight and everything seems fine, I think I'd be tempted to keep her on it. Doublecheck with your Vet and see what he/she says.

They should stay on puppy food till they are at least 18 months old. Their vital organs do not fully develop till that age and they still have a bit more filling out to do too. Of course if you feed real food, you don't have to be switching around.
