Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Personally - I LOVE that - he's showing you how much he missed you and I would play with him FIRST before taking a nap - He needs the stilmulation after being alone also - Watching a 6 month old playing is the best thing in the world - I think it's VERY relaxing to play with my girls - and he'd probably settle down once he gets his lovin - Enjoy it !

| Mine do the same thing! I love it... some days I am so exhausted, but I just give them some love and play fetch for a minute and they realize that I'm not leaving, they will curl up and take a nap with me! |

| Thanks for your response. Actually when I come home I play, talk with him but he demand attention until 9PM, so there is no way for me to take a nap after work |

| Have you tried getting a Puppy Kong? I have one of these and I call them the "babysitter." You put treats, filler or peanut butter in there and they chew on it and it will keep them occupied for a while! I love these! |

| Coco is very energetic when I get home as well. She whimpers when she hears the key opening the door. It's like she's crying about what a horrible day she had alone There is no way she will let me rest until about 8pm when she gets tired and takes a cat nap. Then we play some more when she wakes up in 15 minutes. We play some more until like 10 or 1030 and the past 2 days she's been sleeping soundly. No whimpering, or whinning. Just sleeping through the night till 6 or 615am. That's our basic schedule. I love it. But she also makes me laugh in the morning because at 6am i put her in my bed to rest with me for 15 minutes but all she wants is to munch on my nose, my fingers, lick my face. I'm thinking, "I'm too slow right now and you're moving wayyyyyyy too fast." Last edited by vainchick5; 05-27-2005 at 09:02 AM. |

| Charlie does that to me too. I play ball with him for a few minutes and then i crate him next to my bed with a bone. I know he'd rather be playing with me, and sometimes he'll whine for a minute, but eventually he just eats his bone and waits for the nap time to be over. He usually sleeps too. This works i think because they can see you... but they can't get to you to manipulate you and keep you up. some of you might think this isn't very nice, but everyone has to set different routines with their household inhabitants... including pups. If you need a nap - TAKE IT! You'll be more fun and loving for your dog after that anyway!

| I have a ball on a stick to play with Snoodles. That way, I can still sit in the chair and we also play together. She stalks it and runs and jumps at it and, of course, I let her catch it once in a while. I got it at the dollar store. It was for a cat, but I took the feathers off the end of the ball. We love this toy! Pat |
