| I'm afraid I am going to hurt my husband!!! My husband is out of town right now but before he left I said that I wanted to have our puppy named. Well, I thought we had decided on Izzy. Today I talked to him on the phone and he lets me know that he's just not sure about the name! I think I am going to hurt him!! Our breeder said to let her know what we decide on and her family will start using the name so she gets used to it. I saw her last night but I didn't tell her Izzy because something was telling me not to. My daughters told me to go ahead and call her that anyway but I really want ALL of us to agree. I don't want him in a few years say to me that he really wished we hadn't named her that. I am headed to our local library to pick up a few dog naming books. I will have a list of names when he returns on Friday to go over. Wish me luck, please! Otherwise, I'm really gonna hurt him!!!! |

| Lol I know how you feel.... but you're right... you want the whole family to be on board! I know as a breeder, I would love them to know the name so when I call them... I don't say puppy! But don't worry if you can't decide... the baby will pick up what his/her name is later anyhow! But I suggest everybody picks their choice name... and the whole family has to be at least like it if it is chosen. Then put it in a hat and see which one comes up. This way everybody feels they had a say. In my house... my husband and I don't usually agree on names but we negotiate alot! LOL Good Luck! At least.... he thinks we do! |

| No matter what name I came up with for Piper or Max, my hubby said he didn't like it. He named them. I just ended up going along with it.

| Put the names you're considering on little pieces of paper and put them in a hat. Then have someone close their eyes and pick

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | ahhh that's one thing I don't miss about new puppies. We talked for 2 weeks-ish before we decided what to name Tucker. We had pretty much settled on Noah (even though i wasn't in love with it), then my dad said something about "Dr. Tucker" (he tried to save our puppy who passed away) and my mom and I just looked at each other, and we decided Tucker was the perfect name. So something may just end up "coming" to you! Good luck! Let us know what happens!

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | I picked Jazzy. Nobody here liked it but me. On the way home my husband said "you know Jazzy fits him" After he was here nobody complained about his name. Sometimes I think we know it just takes others time to see we are right. LOL

| breader ask to steal our name When we bought Spanky he had a brother the breeder wasn't going to sell and then asked if we would mind if she stole our name. We picked the name spanky because the cat was named Darla (after the little rascals) Im glad we kept the name even if his brother has the same name. I also think it is so special that your hubby wants to be involved in the naming of your puppy. let me know what you decide. |

| Ask him if he has any suggestions. No complaining without possible solutions. |

| He does give me ideas for names but ones that I don't care for. I guess we'll keep throwing them out there and see what happens. Eventually we'll come up with something. My daughter mentioned Jordan tonight. I kind of like that. Thanks for the help! |

| My husband is the HUGEST PITA when it comes to naming a pet and even our child. He is such a grump about it. Every name "I knew someone with that name and I did not like them because of...." Then with our dogs "I do not care you just pick a name and I will like it." Then every name I picked he would not like. I feel your pain! I eventually just kept saying every name I thought of out loud and if he was not home I would write it down. Sometimes it is hard to pick a name until you have them home and see their personality! |

| I'm pretty lucky because usually my hubby doesn't give me a hard time about names. My daughter on the other hand will wrinkle up her nose, and roll her eye's if she doesn't like it. She gets over it. LOL |

| Tia went un-named for a few days when we first got her, and like you, i wanted my husband to like the name too. He kept insisting that she was more "my" dog, and whatever I chose would be fine, but then he didn't like some of the names I chose! So we went onto some websites with dog names and baby names. We sat down and really quickly jotted any names down that we both "liked" that we came across. From there we narrowed it down. It was finally between Sophia and Tia. Well, Tia it was!
