Oh girl - Max is a hero...how cute that he's watching out for that poor yorkie IF it were me - and they're not allowed pets I WOULD report them...or better yet - leave a note on the door and say if they don't put that poor dog inside the next letter will be to the manager. I don't want to see you get in trouble or that yorkie to be taken to the pound but with summer coming there's no way that dog will be able to take the heat...poor thing....he looks so lonely out there in his prison cell. |
I really do like what Luna'sMomma said. She has put it in a better form then I could ever do. If the lady does retaliate n says screw off then take the next step its extremely unsafe for the pup to be left where he is. Being the loving animal lover you are I would think this would be your best bet and still be able to sleep at night. |

Luna's mommy has the right idea. I agree with her 100% That poor baby:( |
if this were a small child just put outside in a penned in concrete porch area all day basically left to fend for itself you could bet someone would do or say something not just mind your own buisness! SOME people do mind their own buisness and look out for only themselves no matter what that's why the world is the way it has become! if they aren't supposed to have pets per apartment rules then they shouldn't have a dog much less one they just leave outside in a small penned in area that doesn't even look like a fence to me. not attacking anyone but that's just my humble opinion!!! |

I wouldnt go over there and start a fight. Tell them about the big dogs in your area. Maybe offer to pet sit-make playdates for the dogs.Educate her/them about yorkies ect. Do this in a kind and helpful way.Im worried that they will take their anger out on the little dog.Good Luck |
Geesh you would think if they were not allowed pets that they would not leave theirs outside in plain sight!!! How long is it left each day?? Sad:( |

I also like the idea of leaving a note on the door. I've seen issues between neighbors turn ugly VERY fast, so I'm not sure if a confrontation is the best idea. I'm just looking out for your safety too.. you never know w/some people what they will do. I think you're a wonderful person and I don't think that you'd steal a yorkie.. I was more replying to the others who thought that taking it was the answer. I've seen things where people have stolen dogs that were in horrid conditions... tied to a tree w/a chain and they were the ones that were prosecuted, not the bad owners who abused their dogs. The people rescuing the dog had the best intentions at heart, but unfortunately that just does not hold up in the eyes of the law, which is unfortunate :( |
If the Yorkie has no food or water outside then the authorities can do something. But if they come over to check and it has food and water available, they aren't going to do anything. Leaving an animal in an enclosed yard is not a crime. The owners probably thought they were doing the dog a favor by leaving it outside all day instead of locked in a little crate all day inside. Remember, not everyone loves a Yorkie the way people do on this site. This is being discussed in another thread about the lady who moved next door to the Yorkie Candy. Candy's owners see their Yorkie as a dog/pet. Most here see their Yorkies as a member of the family with the same rights as humans. In the real world that isn't the case. Otherwise wouldn't BrushyCreek's owner been arrested immediately? |
i don't see anything wrong with a dog being left outside while i am at work i leave my dogs outside when i am at work. of course they have food and water but no point if it is a pretty day for them to be locked in my house. I have 4 dogs, 2 yorkies, english bulldog, and a pekingese they love to be outside. If the dog has a place to lay if he gets hot to get out of the sun. Then there is nothing wrong with it. And i would be highly pizzed if someone stole my dogs because they were outside. i have a fenced in backyard and they run around all day |
