Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Are 2 yorkies better than 1? I don't really mean "better" - but not sure how else to describe. I have a 2.5 year old, Wylie, and we're considering another. We're worried Wylie will be jealous/upset - then again, we kind of know he'll love it. We just love him to death. For those of you who went from 1 yorkie to 2 - are you glad you did? Do you wish you stayed w/ one (not taking into consideration how much you love the 2nd one)? Is it that much more work having 2? Anything else you'd advise me about the decision? Many thanks, Ann |

| I just got my second Yorkie last Saturday. Riley just turned one and although he is the love of my life, I had always considered having two. While we are pretty new at this, I'm really surprised how quickly they are warming up to each other! The hardest part is Riley is more of a teapot baby than a teacup (he's 9 lbs) and Cooper is 1.5 lbs so I do worry about the enthusiasm on Riley's part. But I can tell already that this is a really good move. Since I work, they have each other during the day and can play together at night. We are having some jealousy problems and Riley initially did quite a bit of "marking". But as long as you make Wylie the alpha (greet him first, feed him first, etc.) you will be fine. Also, as an FYI my vet said it was the smartest thing to do - that Yorkies thrive on companionship. Good luck!! Let me know how it goes as I'm going through it myself

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Definitely double the fun ! Lex was a year old when I got Lulu and the first few days there was some jealousy but I loved up on him and didn't over coddle her and he realized he was still my stud muffin. It's been great because they play well and keep each other company. If you can afford it thenI say go for it. I was eyeing a third the other day and my husband gave me the evil eye. They are very addictive.

| I only have one, but I am hoping lots and lots of people say "yes" to this thread so I can show it to my hubby. I already want a little sister for Percy as soon as he is trained and everything

But seriously...I had my girl for 3 years and really wanted a "playmate" for her so I got a puppy. Vixxen is a momma's girl and is used to being the only spoiled princess in the castle. So I was nervous. It took a good month for her to "like" her new "sister!" I just didn't force the puppy on her and I tried to continue special treatment with Vixxen - like I'd take her on short errands while Truffles stayed in her pen (she didnt know any better yet ) and Vixxen slept with us without Truffles for a good 2 months before I added Truffles to the mix. They are fine together now...still hoping they get even closer. For me, it isn't much harder with two. I take them everywhere with me, so it's a tad more work to pick 2 up and go, but honestly, not much different. Now if I add another.....I need another arm. I'm glad I have both and its hard to stop at two!

| Yes 2 are definitely better than 1. I just got my second baby last week. I was also worried Coco would be sad/jealous/territorial. She ADORES that little guy and I don't know what she would do without him. She loves him so much and he loves his big sister. They play, follow each other around, cuddle togethter when they sleep, and are pretty much inseparable. Where ever Coco is, Rocco follows, and vice versa. I would HIGHLY recommend getting a second.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Here is a plus you can mention to your hubby: the second baby learn to go potty outside faster because of the first one. Lulu has learned very quickly because of Lex.

| Oh most definately...Two, three, four!!! If you can afford the ins and outs of multi pet ownership, I say GO FOR IT!!! I can tell you from experience, it sorta gets easier with each one! They tend to learn the do's and don'ts from their older counter part(s)! |

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | YEP! I was sooo nervous about getting my second one. Didn't want one or the other to feel left out or not special and I never thought I could love another as much as I love my Sted-Man But 2 is definitely alot more fun than one! They are so cute together and there is more to love

| Twice the fun, but not twice the work. they keep each other entertained and how hard is it to fill two dishes instead of one. Even bath days aren't twice the work because half the job is getting everything out and putting it all away. |

| 2 Yorkies.... HIGHLY recommended! Shelby & Seymour are "2 peas in a pod"!!! Seymour will stand next to his food bowl and wait for Shelby to start eating before he does..... what a gentleman! They are always playing and "pretend fighting"....... For instance: When Shelby is on my lap, she will growl until Seymour starts growling back. Then she will jump off my lap and "attack" Seymour. Once she jumps down, Seymour will jump up and then he will growl until Shelby growls back then he will jump down and "attack" her!......... and on and on and on.... it is hilarious! (Finally I get tired of all the craziness and make them both sit on my lap and behave themselves)

| OH yeah much better. Cody is 3 years old and I wanted another yorkie so bad. I waited and waited and he just seemed so Alphamale and I didn't think I could have another. Well we finally did it. We bought a 12 week old yorkie who is now 16 weeks old this week. Cody loves to play with her. He does get jealous sometimes but he still like Izzy too. I just try to make sure that his routine doesn't change much. I still let him sleep with me at night and put Izzy in her crate. Hard to keep her out of his food bowl though
