| This is just awful thank god i hadnt started feeding my dogs soft food yet. And my cats only eat dry food. My mother in laws cat was affected but last i knew it was still alive but still very ill. Shes had it at teh vet twice and left it tehre the second time to get more tests and to get better. This isnt fair to pet owners to have to lose their pets just because they fed them so food they didnt know was bad. |

| Donating YT 11K Club Member | That is horrible! I'm soo glad I don't feed my dogs wet food...I would be heartbroken if something happened to them, they are so little. I feel so bad for all the animals that have died because of this and for their owners also. |

| Lastest news: the recall is expanding more brands will be added; scientists warn that more pets will die. Menu Foods says they will re-imburse medical expenses for those affected.

| I read that too and i think it said that it was about 95 brands now. There are lawsuits already being filed as you can imagine. They also said that they do expect a lot more to die as many of the packages are STILL ON THE SHELVES!! I wonder if microwaving it will kill off the toxin?? I keep my kibbles in the frig and always nuke it for about 8 seconds just to get the chill off of it. .....Linda |

| This is so sad and scary. I'll be praying for families going through the loss of their beloved pet. A recall is a companys worst nightmare. I work for a manufacturing company in the supply chain department and that is one thing that we don't ever want to experience. A recall hurts a company financially. Not only is it going to cost them money to pay vet bills but it is also costing them LOADS of money to recall the product. Thats an instant fine. |

| I have to wonder if it was not contaminated canned Nutro Ultra Puppy that was giving Gracie repeated bouts of diarrhea. She has not had diarrhea since I stopped feeding her that canned food about a month or so ago. OMG. I wonder if I should take her in to have her kidney function checked? She seems fine, but... I also have 3 cans of Nutro Max Gourmet canned cat food. They are not on the recall list, but I don't trust them. I was going to throw them away but I think I may hang onto them, or at least the labels. Good thing the cats did not like it and would not eat it! Sometimes I think animals know best.
