Wrong Reg papers? So after having Buddah for 3 months I finally got my Registration papers from the breeder. Except they are for the ACA not the AKC? Is their a difference? Does this mean anything bad. What if he cant be registered with the AKC? GRRR I am so pissed! I specifically asked them about the registration. They wont even return my calls! I paid over 2k for my puppy and I feel like this is unacceptable. Any Advice?

Maybe your pup is double registered? Did you specifically ask if he was AKC registered or just registered? I have never heard of ACA. I would definitely keep calling them!!

Right now he is technically not registered at all. this is just the paperwork to send with $15 bucks for a registration with the ACA American Canine Association. I specifically asked if he was or could be registered with the AKC. that is the one eveyone had told me was the right one.

You paid for the dog and it was supposed to be akc registered I wouldnt give up until you get what you paid for. Especially if you paid 2k for the dog thats more then i paid for mine, ofcourse my akc papers are still to come as well. I just got her tho I havent been waiting 3 months. I have no idea why it would take 3 months to get them anyways. A good breeder should have them to you before 3 months and should have you informed on what you are getting before you buy.

Does your state have a lemon law for puppiess? Some states do and you would be able to get your money back. that is not a good registry so someone posted today.

When my dog had her puppies, I registered the litter with the AKC as soon as I could. That way I had the paper work to send along with the new owners when their picked them up, nobody had to wait for them at all. I don't understand why breeders don't have the papers all ready, it's not a big deal and only cost me $33 to register my litter.

so now he is saying he never told me that and I need to take the dog for a DNA testing. While im on the phone with him he tells me ACA is better then AKC and AKC allows for inbreeding ect. then he offers to get me their phone number puts the phone down and tells his co worker "you know that girl that bought marley shes crazy" I cant believe this. I have never been so mad in my life. I dont know if there is anything I can do. I love buddah so much but I wish i wouldnt have given my money to those people..

Those kind of people deliberately mislead you knowing that you will not want to give the dog back. Do you plan to breed or show? If not, the registration papers are not important. But it is frustrating when someone deliberately misleads you. And then tries to make a fool out of you to make themselves look better.

| That would make me so mad. Whether you spent $2000.00 or $100.00...if you specifically were promised AKC papers then AKC papers you should get! I know by now you are so attached to the little guy too! Just follow your gut instinct on what to do! Your gut is usually right! Quote:

if a pup cost $2000.00 he should come with pieces of the moon. .i would threaten to take them to court for misleading you...even the judge should know that a dog that cost that much should be fully registered i am so sorry for your current circumstances with these people good luck
