and ps RMKC - I used to dress my huge tomcat 'Bruce' in Dollclothes - now THAT was stupid - he was such a good sport though :D :D need I mention - I was NINE when I did this ???? :p :p :p |
I do not have a male yorkie, but if I did you bet he'd be wearing ribbons, bows, and clothes. Now, I may not put him in pink, but he would definitely be dressed. In response to the "its dumb" comment, there are some practical reasons to have them in clothes. I have a chi named Harley. He is seven years old and has seizures which the vet has determined is stress/anxiety related (not completely 100% sold on that as I think that is the term vets and ppl doctors use when they can't explain something). He also has severe separation anxiety. This has nothing to do with lack of training, etc (we've tried different classes and methods). The one thing that we have found that helps him more than anything is a t-shirt. It makes him feel more secure and he is a totally different dog with his t-shirt on. With his t-shirt on I don't have to hold him, I can walk out of the room, I can even leave the house and he is OK. He is a happier, healthier dog with his shirt on. |

that's so awesome that an article of clothing can make him more relaxed - poor baby - they really get so attached to us that anything that works must be a blessing - I'm sorry he has seizures but if wearing a shirt helps then good for you finding something that works - besides - That's really cute bless his heart - |
my male dog has a collection of jerseys, and bandanas. i dont do bows because hes a bichon and his hair isnt made for it lol :P but its just as fun with the bandanas, shirts, and collar charms |
He LOVES his shirts! He loves clothes period. Even when I'm trying to put dresses on the girls he comes running up and tries poking his head in between the dress and the girl. LOL I first heard about it in a training book I bought. It's called Tellington Touch (or T-Touch). It involves extremely light massage that is very calming. Having their tummies surrounded by fabric has an extremely calming effect on some dogs. Luckily my Harley is one of them! |

oh no !! I totally respect those who don't 'bow' their pets - it's a personal choice all the way but your opinion IS respected !! We don't have to agree from a personal standpoint but I can see where you're coming from - when I posted - I was really kidding around - it's a light subject and been interesting but in no way did I mean it to sound like your opinion or feelings don't count - they DO - Sorry if I sounded like that.... |

Just don't make it sound like people who do want bows are doing a bad thing. :) |
i dont think its bad at all and no need for any apologies. Its hard to show what tone someone is using over a webboard so if I came across as a jerk please know that was not my intention |
