That reasoning makes perfect sense to me. May as well not broadcast it, I suppose. Kind of along those same lines, I never understood why people with expensive car stereo equipment put the maker decals on their back window...that's like an invitation that you've got something in your car worth stealing.

I won't even put the empty boxes out for the trash man when we have gotten something new and expensive..... I worked for an insurance company for 15 years and we always told people never to put the empty boxes out for the trashman... WE had one family that had a big theft.... we paid out the claim they replaced several items and threw the boxes out and the next day all the new stuff was stolen too... Don' t Advertise.

You no im glad i seen this post. The stealing of small dogs here in Ireland is on the increase. Mostly people leaveing their pets in cars and theifs breaking the window and just taking them out. Well i for 1 would not leave my babies in the car in their own what so ever.
I have a friend who brought me to see a freind of hers who has a lot of yorkies (the woman is an eldery lady who lives alone). Well anyway when we were going into her home her garden was full of everything yorkie. Ornaments, pictures, hanging plaques, all things like that , well i thought how cute. Well now am not so sure.
My god when i think about it now her home sure advertises that she has yorkies. i am gona phone my friend and get her to tell her what i've just read here and hopefully she will take all this stuff away.

I worry about that too and that is why i dont put plaques in my yard or decals on my windows or car

LOL! we have three of those! my husband loves his boys and is a breeder. everyone knows that they are in our backyard and we NEVER EVER have a problem with anyone coming here without permission. i don't want to help spread the paranoia about these dogs because they are not all bad. it's how they are raised and our boys are family - not fighting machines! but they will protect us and their yard against any type of threat.

as far as the yorkie sign - no way would i ever do that.

you would think that would be common sense to alot of people but it still isn't !! we don't do that either. who knows who is riding those garbage trucks??

i would like to get one for my yukon & one to put on my house window. i believe that anyone who tried to come out here and get mine would have a hard time. someones always home usually,brotherinlaw police officer and brings his car home it's right up the road coming in we live on a dirt road and all family back here,also theres a giant rottie with my yorkies who wouldnt let a stranger in without eating them but you never know what could happen i guess

Since I have kids as well, I don't like to have anything that announces my babies or my furbabies. Between the rash of yorkie thefts and general parent worry, I just don't like to give info away.....like someone could come up to one of my kids and say..."Oh, mommy said your little yorkie got out....come help me find him....or, someone could get it in their head that they NEED a yorkie (not out of the relm of possibilities, I see internet postings in my area begging for them at cheap prices), and help themselves to mine.

Lossing any of my babies is a devistaing thought, we wouldn't be a whole family anymore
