| The saga that was last night... So as most of you know I got a new puppy yesterday, a little boy named Rocco. I had bedtime all played out in my mind, I would set up an expen, put his crate (with the door OFF) in there and food/water and potty pads. Then Coco would sleep with me since she's the top dog Anyway, that I did, and did it work?? NO!!! Big sister decided to protest her little brother sleeping in the expen and not with us. So she kept crying for him and laying outside the pen, just pawing at him, like he's imprisoned forever. So then I'm like fine YOU go with Rocco, but he's not coming in bed. I was afraid he'd soil the bed or try to jump down because she does that all throughout the night. Plus I want them to start learning to sleep together. I put her crate in there with his made the space bigger. WELL THAT DIDN'T WORK EITHER!! Because everytime she went into her crate he followed her and she didn't want to share her crate So then of course it's 12am by now and I'm hearing running around. I look down from the bed and they're playing like it's 2pm...So finally I put him in his crate, attach the door back on, and put her in bed with me. Well then he starts to cry and she follows. So finally I decided either I wasn't going to sleep tonight or I will have to have him in bed. So i put his crate on my bed, so he stayed in there but was with us so he didn't feel alone and not a peep from him all night Phew 2 hours later, at 1 am we all slept

| Wow, that's a neat idea! Put the Baby inside the crate and put the crate on the bed (...and then tell hubby to go sleep in the other room - hahahaha) |

| I'm so sleepy..lol..But I couldn't help but laugh about it the whole time. I just don't trust him enough yet to let me sleep in bed, not only potty wise but I don't want him to be jumping off the bed because he wants to do everything Coco does. I practically caught him mid air when he tried to jump after Coco last night

| Night time with puppies is always the worst LOL you feel so bad leaving them in their little crates!! No wonder they always end up getting their own way!!The are just soooooo cute! Someone suggested on another thread to put the crate on your bedside cabinet so that they are close but not in the bed!Dont know if it works!!!No doubt you will find what works best for you over the next few nights!
