Need Help with new Puppy Hello All!! Brand New today. My new Little Lily (4mos) has started to eat her own poop and have tried the Adolpf's Meat Tenderizer and Garlic. Food is Available for her and Pee Pad is always clean. Can't figure this one out. She likes to carry it from the Pee Pad to her play area, she sometimes just leaves it there and other times eats it. Seems to want to keep it close to her. I try to catch it, but don't always. Thanks for any help.

I just want you to know that your little, precious baby Lily is NORMAL. It is gross and discusting, but normal for them. I have a beautiful little girl named Mercedes. She is sweet and loving....and quite a little pig when it comes to poop. She'll break it into little pieces and place it nicely on her pillow. I tell her she is my beautiful hog . She's just like that.... . You will get MUCH support and similar stories in regard to it here at YT. I'd say your best bet is something that goes INTO her food before she eats it. I wish you the best in your quest....and most of all.....WELCOME TO YT!!!!!

| Gus did this when he was a puppy. He goes potty outside so that made it easier to break the habit but a lot of them just grow out of it. Be careful with the garlic. It says large amounts would need to be eaten to cause illness but it is on the list of dangerous foods for dogs. Here...http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43555 Welcome to YT.

Someone here on YT said they found grounding up alfalfa and annis seed and adding to the food will stop poop eating.

I have a poop eater too, he doesn't eat his own, just everyone elses. He doesn't do it all the time. I just try to get it picked up as soon as possible. I'm hoping that he'll outgrow it.

Wow!! Lots of poop-eaters here. I thought we were the only ones. I will give the alfalfa and annis seeds a try and lay off the garlic. I started to wonder if the chicken and chopmeat (of course) cooked was coming out so fast that she was deciding to have an appetizer. Starting laying off the fine dining, but didn't change anything. Thanks for all of your help. Wealth of information here for new mommy's.
