| Swollen Gland? Bug bite? Cancer? Help! Hey everyone, I was petting Oliver (1 1/2 years old male yorkie) and on his right side near us hip but a little forward on the side of his stocmach/back there was a lump the size of a half dollar!!! It is stationary and I can press on it and he doesn't show any discomfort. I'm pretty sure it wasn't there yesterday! Anyways... any ideas of what it might be? He's been going on short jogs for the past two days with my BF and me. Could it be a sore muscle/gland? I really am clueless in this department. The skin isn't broken and the bump is not red so I don't think it is a spider/bug bite. Help?!

| Did he recently get shots? Mine tend to have little bumps a few days afterwards, but not as big as half dollar. If it doesn't go away soon, better check with the vet. better safe than sorry. |

| I think it could take that long for the bumps to show after the shot, but, I'm concerned that you said it was the size of a half dollar. I'd get it checked to be sure. Good luck and let us know. |

| If it isn't in the same place the shot was given, then it's probably nothing more than a fatty tumor. The Vet. can take that out. Keep us posted on it. |

| It's been a couple of days and a crazy weekend but the bump is still there and it has gone down in size- maybe a little smaller than a quarter but it is pretty hard now. I can push on it and Oliver doesn't seem to mind, but I'm getting worried and calling the vet tomorrow. ANy ideas of what it could be???

| That's great news if it's gone down in size! If it was something serious, I don't think it would go down on it's own. It very likely was from his shot...did he get a rabies shot? Hope you get a good report from the vet!

| He did get a rabies shot! But it went from being large and softer to smaller and hard. Do rabies shots do that? And from what I remember it IS in the genral area where he got his shots (3 of them) but I don't remember exactly where the vet put them on his hindquarters....

| When Coco had her rabies shot I felt a lump that wasn't there. Freaked me out. It was on her right shoulder. I took her to the vet and they said it was from the rabies. It took like two weeks for it to go away but it did
